decorating theme
The P.C.W. met Monday
evening in Ceven Church with
Mrs, C. Ersman in the chair. The
meeting opened with a reading by
Mrs. C. Ersmen entitled "Honor
your father and .mother"„
Mrs. H. Laing conducted the
devotional using interior
decorating .as a theme. She said
that 'home is where the heart is
and advised everyone to use their
own ideas in fixing up different
things in a home,
A musical number was given

companied by her sister Joan.
Mrs. Gunn introduced the peat
speaker Mrs. Luther from
Hensell who spoke on "Home,"
what it should be and what God

South Huron wins two titles
in H-P track, field meet
the 880 yard dash and Connie
Miners finished third in the high
jump.
Gary Lavier placed second in
the senior boys 100 yard dash
while Wilmer Bakker was third in
the midget 440 yard event.
In the junior boys division,
Dave Lovell was second in the 100
yard dash and third in the 220
yard event and John Creces
placed second in the 120 yard
hurdles.
The members of the South
Huron cheerleaders team in
action Monday were Cathy Ratz,
Lisa Ritchie, Linda Ritchie, Jane
Heal, Deb O'Brien, Patty Neeb,
Laura Johns, Jane Van Roestel
and Roseanne Van Roestel. Also
on the team but not participating

South Huron District High
School athletes brought two
championships home Monday
from the annual Huron-Perth
track and field championships
which were held at J. W. Little
Memorial stadium in London,
Kim Postill was named the
junior girls individual champion
and the South Huron girls won the
cheerleading championship.
In winning the overall junior
girls title Kim Postill was first
across the finish line in the one
mile race in six minutes, three
and nine-tenths seconds and she
won the long jump with a leap of
16 feet, one and one-half inches.
She was also third in the 880
yard dash. Valerie Sweet, also of
the local school was third in the 80
metre hurdles.
In senior girls competitions,
Louise Panet placed third in the
80 metre hurdles. Two South
Huron girls finished in the top
three in individual midget class

greens will be busy Monday
afternoon as club members get
the first chance of the season to
partake of their favorite sport.
Several games will be played
throughout the afternoon
followed by a pot luck supper at
6.30 p.m.
Any new bowlers in the area
wishing to join in on the club's
activities this year are asked to
come out Monday afternoon. It's
open to anyone, male or female.

Ratepayers are reminded that Exeter provides weekly
pickup of household garbage, Other garden refuse and
larger items are picked up once every month with pickup
on the first Thursday of each month on the west side of
town and the second Thursday of each month on the east
side.
This should serve the needs of all domestic customers,
It is hoped the ratepayers of Exeter will realize the im-
portance of cooperating in this regard to ensure that
economical waste disposal can be maintained.

customary word signs.
Due to the practice of persons improperly dumping
garbage and setting fires, Exeter council has authorized
that the dump in Hay Township will be open from 9:00
a.m. to 5:00 p.m. from Monday through Friday only.
The dump gate will be locked at all other times and
any trespassers will be prosecuted under the terms of the
bylaw covering the operation of the dump. Persons con-
victed of contravening the bylaw are liable, upon convic-
tion, to fines up to $300.
This action is made necessary through stringent rules
of the Ministry of the Environment: Failure to comply with
the regulations of the Ministry may result in the dump be-
