Many tired feet
The Bible Society are "Bibles
for Mexico" richer but sore feet
and tired bodies are the topic of
the day at Clandeboye Lucan and
surrounding district, Even
Lieury Was represented.
Jeff Young Lucan arrived back
first from the 15.7 mile trek with
Bill Carson second, Marie
Richards and Mr. Bates a close
third.
Many more finished the walk-a-
thon others gave of their time at
check points and the joining
together of all congregations in a
worth while project was heart-
warming.

One month ago Girl Scouts
from Sandusky, Mich., released
100 helium filled balloons with the
following message, "Let Girl
Scouting show you the sky and
teach you the joy of living
together in friendship."
On the following day, Sunday
morning while walking near her
home, one of the Rosch children
found Debbie Gangler's balloon
tangled in a bush in Clandeboye,
Mrs. Rosch returned the
balloon with a letter. Two of the
Rosch children, Sylvia and
Monica are Brownies with the 1st
Ilderton Pack.
The Rosch's received a
friendship letter from Debbie of
Troop 141 Blue Water Council,

Friday 65 children from grades
1 and 2 with their teachers Mrs.
Axford, Miss Dreyer, Miss Jones
and Mrs. Davies from Lady Beck
School in London visited and
toured the honey house and bee
yard to help further their
education on bee culture.
There were 12 members of
Clandeboye and Lucan UCW who
motored to London Thursday
evening to the Bible Society
Building for a tour. Rev. Mr.
Thompson secretary showed a
film, "Serango Harvest."
The Clandeboye ladies held
their meeting in the meeting
room and plans were made to
paint the church and hire a
painter.
Mrs. J. Donaldson and Cindy
were guests with Mr. and Mrs. J.
McCarthy and girls of Granton
Sunday.
Mr. & Mrs. A. Hodgins and Pat
were Sunday guests with Mr. &
Mrs, R. Ruston, St. Marys.
A delegation went to the
McGillivray township council to
ask for assistance with setting up
a ball diamond for the Clan-
deboye Girls Ball Club. The
township exceeded all ex-
pectation and Clandeboye will be
the lucky benefactor of a com-
munity play ground. Many
thanks to those people with a
purpose and the drive to carry it
out.
Cathy Nylor and Nathan and
Nancy Skinner, London were
visitors with Janis Kestle,
Saturday. Mrs. Dorothy Joyce,
Windsor is a visitor with Mr, &
Mrs. L. Derbyshire,
Monday evening two fire
engines were summoned to
Clandeboye to guard a roaring
blaze. An old barn was razed and
one more landmark is erased.
Mrs. Earl Morgan has been
confined to St. Josephs Hospital
for ten days.
Laura Beck, daughter of Mr. &
Mrs. Blake Beck, RR 1, Exeter
was announced a winner in the
"Trevor the Traffic cop" art
contest on Jr. Talent Hour on
C.F.P.L. TV, Sunday morning.
She wins a trip to Toronto to the
O.P.P. Training School and
Queen's Park.
Mrs. Norman Ford, Detroit,
spent the weekend with Mrs.
Verda Taylor.
