A group headed by J.A. Marlatt and Mr. Niblock received a $10,000 LIP grant to produce art for area hospitals and nursing homes. Their total output, when completed, will be 30 paintings and 100 silk screen prints in five different designs. Many of the works are on local themes, such as the Van Egmond home at Egmondville and Seaforth Hospital. The pictures will be then distributed to area institutions, free of charge. Because the original request for a $12,000 grant was reduced to $10,000 however, money. was not available to frame the pictures. Mr. Marlatt expressed the hope that each auxiliary will un- dertake to finance the cost of framing the pictures they receive. South Huron Hospital is likely to receive two of the works of art.
