By SID DALEY Must apologize for the brevity of Comments this week. Had to report in Toronto on Sunday for a two week course so I wrote it up prior to leaving, Say, dad, you are urged to remember the father and son banquet that will be held in the Legion Hall, Lucan on Saturday, May 19. This is the night Branch 540 pays homage to the coaches, managers and the many players of the Lucan Legion sponsored minor hockey teams, It is also the night for the presentation of the individual player awards and I am told that no one knows who the winners of these awards are until the announcement is made following the banquet - almost like an academy awards night. Happy to advise Jack Nairn, playing coach of the Lucan Ilderton Jets will be your guest speaker. There it is dad, the legion has laid it on, now it is up to you to make the evening a complete success by keeping the evening of the 19th open and bringing your hockey playing son to his night out on the Legion. Here is something of interest I came across the other day . Americans still like Canada. Immigration figures reveal that Americans made up the greatest percentage of people moving to this country. They totalled 22,618 persons (18.5 percent) out of a total of 122,006 immigrants last year. Maybe we really should worry about the 'Yanks, if they can't buy us they're going to move in on us, And that's 30 ,for this week - remember - A confidential secretary is the one that the husband hasn't told his wife about. `11:" - 000 cut /n.11 t1 BANGHART, KELLY, DOIG & CO.
