All bicycle owners in the town
of Exeter are reminded bicycle
licenceS will be on sale Saturday
at the police station from 9 a.m.
to 5 p.m.
The licence fee is 75 cents and
all bicycles must be safety
equipped.
On Saturday, May 19 the
Exeter Kinsmen in co-operation
with the local police department
will be conducting a bicycle rodeo
for elementary school students in
Exeter at the arena,
This contest will be open to
students from Exeter public
school and Precious Blood
separate school.
Bicycle skills, general
knowledge of bicycle safety and
the rules of the road will be
tested. Each contestant will be
given a written exam and must
pass the rodeo tests of stopping,
starting, proper riding, arm
signals and bicycle balance, The
general knowledge tests were
passed out to the schools Tuesday
so contestants may prepare for
the rodeo.
Valuable prizes of three
bicycles will go to the winners
along with safety medals. In
addition the over-all winner will
be eligible to participate in
elimination provincial rodeos.

Hope to call
water tender
Tuckersmith Township council
hopes to call tenders for the
water works to service the
hamlet of Brucefield within two
weeks. All that is holding up the
project is the final approval from
the Ontario Municipal Board.
Meeting at Brucefield, council
gave first and second reading to
the bylaw to permit the service.
Application for the water works
was sent to the Ontario Municipal
Board last November but ap-
parently has been held up
because of four minor changes in
the pipeline.
Building permits were ap-
proved for George Townsend of
RR 4, Seaforth for an implement
shed; Stanley Johns RR 4,
Seaforth for an addition to his
house; and Allan Carter RR 4,
Clinton, for a silo; Max Carter,
Egmondville, an addition to his
house.
Reeve Elgin Thompson and
councillor Vince Fowlie were
named delegates to the
Association of Municipal
Municipalities of Ontario con•
vention to be held In Toronto
August 19-22. Four delegates will
attend the Huron County
municipal officers annual
meeting to be held in Behnore on
May 16.
