St, James' Anglican
On Maundy Thursday, the Holy
Communion was celebrated in
the Church. Then on Easter
Sunday at Holy Communion the
girls of the choir sang a hymn and
Elaine Cunningham sang the solo
part as an anthem, The organist
was Joan Cunningham,
Rev. Carson preached on the
fact of the Resurrection and the
experience of the Resurrection.
He said as Anglicans we believe
the scriptures are this inspired
word of God. In the Prayer Book,
it says that Christ rose from the
dead with a flesh and blood body,
bones and all. This is the position
the Gospel writers took, We share
in the resurrection by foregoing
our sins and living the new life in
Christ on a higher plans,
Many people are slaves to false
teaching rather than living the
life of Christ. Easter reminds us,
Easter Sunday at 6 a.m. the sun
shone on those who entered Holy
Trinity Church. There were 30
present to welcome the morning.
At the Holy Communion there
were almost 150 present whom
120 took Holy communion. Both
the Junior and Senior Choirs sang
anthems. During the anthems the
choir was directed by Miss Legg
accompanied by Mrs. C. Hardy,
The flowers in the sanctuary
were in memory of Billy Hardy
given by the family and in
memory of Wally Boyce, whose
birthday would have been Sunday
given by the family. Next Sunday
is the first Sunday after Easter. It
is the beginning of Daylight
Saving Time. Sunday School
meets at 9:45 a,m, with Easter
Film strips. At 11:00 a.m. the
Nursery and the League of
Loyality meets and the Service of
Morning Prayer will be held,
Mr. Carson said, to stop doing
these things that make for hell on
earth and begin living the Christ,
like life and enjoy heaven now as
well as hereafter.
