The regular monthly meeting
of Middlesex Federation of
Agriculture, Thursday evening
was attended by 35 Westminster
ratepayers. They were seeking
support in their fight against the
proposed dump in their come
triunity by the City of London,
The Board of Directors of the
County Federation agreed to
support the position taken by the
ratepayers for the following
reasons -
1. Prime Agricultural land
should not be used for sanitary
land fill. Everyone should be
concerned about the disap-
pearance of our most limited
resource.
2. The emphasis should be on
an alternative method of disposal
as the problem of garbage is a
mutual one for all Municipalities,
3. Expropriation of land by a
large Corporate body from
another Municipality for sanitary
land fill seems to us morally
wrong. Removing families from
century farms is difficult to
condone.
The property owners involved
proceeded to set up a committee
to function with the Federation

the work of translating the
Scriptures. He gave examples of
how wonderful it was for the
Tibetans to read the Scriptures in
their own language. He told of the
work being done in Canada to
translate the Scriptures into the
modern language of Canada's
Indians and Eskimo.
He told how a Bible Society

Walkathon
for .Bibles
The Lucan Branch of the
Canadian Bible Society is inviting
young people to participate in a
walked-ion on May 5. Proceeds
for this project will assist the
society to meet the costs of
producing the Gospel of Mark in
Maya and Tzeltal de Oxchuo,
These are two of the Indian
languages of Mexico.
As well as these two languages
the Mexican Bible Society is
asking for the reprinting of
Portions of Holy Scripture in
several additional languages and
dialects that are presently
without scriptures.
The total cost of these projects
adds up to $2,500. The need is
urgent and the young people of
Lucan and district are going to
walk to meet this challenge.
Would you like to walk on May
5? Or would you help some young
person in this worthy cause?

and son hockey games, It is felt
that these are the most fun filled
games of the year, The fathers
and sons who participated in this
worthwhile project are to be
congratulated and thanked.
While the fathers nurse those
`old' aching legs and the odd
bruise we know you will be happy
to hear the games realized $100,00
