Zurich couple wed
To reside in Stratford
Lodge honors president
with banquet, flowers
Douglas Debus, Zurich Was
best man and Paul Bedard,
Zurich, Leo Denomme, Ingersoll,
Louis Debus, Stratford and Greg
Denomme, Kitchener ushered
guests.
Following a reception at Zurich
Community Centre, the couple
left for a wedding trip to Niagara
Falls. For travelling, the bride
changed to a purple pant suit,
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Garfield Denomme and
the groom's parents are Mr. and
Mrs. Leonard Debus, all of
Zurich.
The couple will reside in
Stratford where the groom is
employed with Fag Bearings Ltd.

initiation ceremony was con-

to the meeting.
The DDP Margaret Sharp then
spoke to the members taking as
her theme "Do ye Even So"
stressing kindness, thought-
fulness and consideration to one's
fellowman with harmony, truth
and co-operation.
The new members were
welcomed by NG Vi Coates and
Noble Grand May Habkirk from
Seaforth.
Prior to the meeting a banquet
honoring the District Deputy
President,Mrs. Sharp was held at
Thames Road United Church.
Corsages were presented to the
officials.

The Presbyterian Church
Women held their April meeting
at the church Monday evening.
Mrs. J. Corbett was in charge of
devotions and read the parable of
the sower. She developed
reflections on the physical and
spiritual benefits derived from a
garden, be it ever, so tiny. We are
also the only guardians of our
natural blessings,
Mrs. A, Whilsmith introduced
Mrs. Andrew Johnston, who is the
welcome wagon hostess for
Exeter and area. Mrs. Johnston
enthusiastically explained the
work and aims of the
organization,
There was a musical number
by Mrs. Hoffman and Mrs. W.
Sillery accompanied by Mrs.
Isles at the piano.
Plans were finalized for the
thank-offering service in the
church on April 29,
The president, Mrs. H. Strang
concluded the meeting with
prayer.
WMC
The March meeting of the
W,M.C. of the Pentecostal
Church was held on Thursday
with 14 present at the home of
Mrs. Keith McLaren. The
meeting was opened with prayer
by Mrs. E. Millar,
The roll call was answered with
scripture verses concerning the
"Characteristics of a great
woman." Mrs, Foder of Thedford
gave a very inspiring message.
A session of prayer then
followed. The Missionary reading
was given by Mrs. Mabel Jeffrey
and offerings were received.
Hymns were sung throughout the
meeting,
Sorority
The Alpha Pi chapter of the
Beta Sigma Phi sorority met
Tuesday at the home of Dorothy
Balsdon. The members of the
executive entertained the ladies
with a wine and cheese party.
Year end reports were given by
committee conveners and two
guests were welcomed, Glenda
Wagner and Catherine Beatty.

returned home Monday after
their visit to Victoria, B.C.
Mrs. Annie Song, of Clan-
deboye, Manitoba, visited with
Mrs, Hazel Hill during the past
week.
The next meeting, to be held
April 17 will be the Founder's day
banquet at the Green Forest
Lodge.

Russell were in charge of the
program on the topic, sculpture
and painting. Guest speaker Jack
Underwood demonstrated string
art.
WI Board Meeting
The South Huron District
Women's Institute board meeting
was held April 3, 1973 in Hensall,
They discussed several events,
including the district annual,
which will be held at Caven
Presbyterian Church, Exeter,
May 16 with Hurondale as
hostess. MrS, Gwen Pemberton,
Bayfield, will be guest speaker,
on the topic of consumer affairs.
A homemade kitten has been
sent on behalf of the district to be
on sale at the National Con-
vention at Banff in June,
Mrs, Mac Hodgert reported on
the meeting held with the Adult
Rehabilitation Centre executive.
It was decided that the money
made at the ploughing match,
$393.62, would be donated to the
library of the adult rehabilitation
centre. If it is agreeable to all
branches, the money previously
given by the branch could be
specified for the library also.
Mrs. 0. Swartzentruber,
Zurich, convener of Citizenship
and World Affairs, was appointed
to attend the officers conference
May 1-3 at Waterloo University.

St. Boniface Roman Catholic
Church, Zurich, was the setting
for the marriage of Gail Marie
Denomme and Leo Joseph
Debus, March 24, 1973.
Father A. Durand officiated for
the double ring ceremony.
Wedding music was supplied by
organist Mrs. Patsy Meidinger
and the St. Boniface school choir.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore a floor
length gown, styled with an
empire waist, high neck line, long
puffy sleeves and a long trailing
veil. She carried a bouquet of
pink roses and white carnations.
Darleen Ducharme was
matron of honor and bridesmaids
were Shirley Bedard, Zurich and
Arlene Denomme, Ingersoll.
They were dressed alike in pink
floor length dresses with long
sleeves and trimmed with
burgundy lace, They wore daisies
in their hair and carried baskets
of pink and white carnations and
daisies.

CENTRALIA
The Easter meeting of the
Centralia U,C,W. was held on
Thursday evening with spring
flowers adorning the schoolroom.
Mrs. Ross McFalls opened the
program with a hymn and read
the Scripture. The Lord's prayer
was repeated in unison and Mrs.
Bill Elliott gave a reading.
A hymn was sung.IVIiss McCall
of "London Mission Services for
Women" was guest speaker and
following her address answered
questions on their work. A solo
was sung by Mrs. Ross McFalls.
Mrs. Bob Blair opened the
business part of the meeting with
a poem. The U.C.W. accepted an
invitation to Greenway tea on
April 11. There will be a Stanley
Brush demonstration in the fall
with Mrs. Lawrence Hirtzel as
demonstrator.

in Exeter.
Mrs. Beaton, Sarnia was a
visitor for a few days at the
manse with her son and
daughter-in-law, Rev. & Mrs.
John Beaton and family.
Mr. & Mrs. Matt Konrad,
Hamilton were weekend guests
with Mr. & Mrs. Stephen Molnar,
Mr, & Mrs. Ray Shoebottom
were dinner guests in honour of
their wedding anniversary at the
home of their son and daughter-
in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Richard
Shoebottom and family in Exeter
on Sunday evening. Dan and
Mary were guests also.
Exeter residents
enjoy south jaunt
Mr. & Mrs. Percy Noels and
Ruth, and Mr. & Mrs. Jack
Palmer, Straffordville
vacationed in Florida recently.
Mr. & Mrs. Noels stayed with
their grandson, John Peter, when
visiting with their daughter,
Marlene Peter in Philadelphia.
They visited in North Carolina
with Mr. and Mrs. Burks and
boys. Mrs. Burks (Dora) is a
niece of Mr. Noels.
In Florida they visited with Mr.
Palmer's sister and family in.
Ocala. They went fishing in the
Gulf and spent several hours at
Daytona Beach. They also visited
Silver Springs, had a ride in the
glass bottom boat and saw the
Prince of Peace Memorial.
They visited Busch Gardens
and went to Walt Disney World
and "Six-Gun Territory."
