FRED BOWDEN • CENTRALIA Mr. & Mrs. Russell Schroeder attended the Semple - Silagy wedding in the Byron United Church on Saturday. The groom is a grandson of Mr. & Mrs. Schroeder. Rev, & Mrs. John Beaton and family returned home on Friday after holidaying for, a few days at their cottage. near Sault Ste Marie, Mr. & Mrs. Bill Johnson and Brian, Stoney Creek were Saturday visitors with Mr. & Mrs. George Snell, Dennis Johnson returned home with his parents after spending the holidays with the Snell family. Miss W.V.' Pollock, Kitchener was a weekend visitor with her sister, Mrs. Lorne Hicks and Sunday callers were Mr. & Mrs. SanWan Ill and family and Mr, & Mrs. Kim Hwang Ho and family, London. Mr. & Mrs. George Snell and family were Sunday visitors with Mr. & Mrs. Jerry Reihl and family, Kirkton. The occasion was a birthday celebration for Ricky Snell and Mr. Reihl. Mrs. Elmer Wilson and Mrs. Frank King, Exeter were Tuesday visitors with Mr. & Mrs. Russell Schroeder. Mr. & Mrs. Ray Shoebottom and Mr. & Mrs. Larry Cronyn will be in charge of the Euchre party in the Community Centre on Monday night. The March meeting of the A.C.W. was held at the home of Mrs, Burns Blackler. Conveners were Mrs. Irvine and Mrs. Garth Blackler. Scripture was read by Mrs. Maurice Blackler. The speaker Mrs, Reg Savary gave a talk on their time spent in Japan as a missionaries. Ward has been received in the village that Wilson Derbecker former owner of Kirkton Market is a patient in Alexandria Hospital Goderich, having suf- fered a stroke. Cecil Dobson is a patient in St. Mary's Memorial Hospital. On St. Patrick's Day a few neighbors surprised Mr. & Mrs. Miller McCurdy on their 53rd wedding anniversary and Mr. & Mrs. Cecil Dobson on their 46th anniversary at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Harold Davis. Mrs. Anna Denham is a patient in St. Mary's Memorial Hospital. Wendy Blackler and Philip Blackler have been visiting friends in Kentucky. GRAND BEND The second meeting of the Golden Age Club was as well attended as the first, opening with the usual sing-song, Mrs. Lawrence, formerly of Scotland, read a poem which she had composed since coming to Canada. This poem told of her dreams of some day coming here, of her trip over, of how those dreams were finally realized, and how happy she and her husband are since settling in Grand Bend. Mrs. Ravelle read two poems and Mrs. Holt and Wm. Love sang an entertaining duet. After closing the• meeting games were played. Bingo At the Alhambra Hall the jack- pot bingo was played Tuesday. The regular game winners were: E. Meloche, Shirley Page, Paul Rood, Yvonne Brown, Dora Rood, Irene Gill, Bill McCann, Angela Robitaille, Louise Van Den Berk, Sandra Ducharme, Mrs. Hill, Emma Conckyt, and Mrs. Shaw. Bill Waghorn visited his mother Sunday afternoon at Huronview Home, Clinton. Mrs. Hazel Eveleigh, Wallacehurg is visiting with Mr. & Mrs. Allan Eveleigh. Cindy Donaldson, Clandeboye was a weekend visitor. Mr. & Mrs. Harry Burgin and Mr. & Mrs. Howard Bearss left Monday to attend a two-day in- surance convention in Toronto. Mr. iSt Mrs. Elmer Desjardine returned recently from a holiday at Lakeland, Florida. They also did some sight-seeing.around other parts of Florida. Mrs. Rudy Polci and her five children, London came overnight to enjoy the holiday with their grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Ernie Collings. Mr. & Mrs. Peter Masse flew by charter flight to Honolulu, Hawaii for a ten-day holiday.
