The pictures were very colorful and depicted life in these countries. He was introduced and thanked by Mrs. H. Caldwell. The roll call was "anything new?" and Mrs. James Drum- mond gave the motto, "Good citizenship is like baseball, it requires team work." Mrs. Ross 13roadfoot contributed several musical numbers as did the Women's Institute Orchestra. Mrs. H. Caldwell gave the treasurer's report, Mrs. Al Hoggarth, the agriculture and Canadian industry report and Mrs. Campbell Eyre the education and cultural activities report. The moninating com- mittee will be Mrs. E. Whitehouse, Mrs. H. Parsons, Mrs. Glen Bell. Members are reminded of the short course on Parliamentary procedure" to be held in the Legion Hall Hensall March 30, The District Board meeting will be April 3. A fun night will be held in Hensall Hotel, April 11. Alderdice Firm at Clinton gets gov't loan A newly formed company will set up operations in Vanastra Park near Clinton assisted by an Ontario Development Cor- poration performance loan ac- cording to an announcement by Industry and Tourism Minister Claude F. Bennett. Jabberocky Limited will receive an $5,489 loan toward the cost of purchasing new machinery to manufacture horse and livestock trailers. The company will require four em- ployees when production begins and anticipates adding another four people within five years. Special lenten services planned at Mount Carmel NOW IN STOCK Rev. Father Jerry Hayes will be speaker for special Lenten services and instruction at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish. The series starts with a mass this Saturday night and continues with three services daily to its conclusion with a Saturday morning mass on April 7. A native of Peterboro, Father Hayes presently serves at St. Mary's College, Brockville, He was spiritual director, for many years, of the Italian Immigrant Aid Society in Toronto and has been assigned to the preaching of English and Italian Missions in Toronto and Montreal. In 1969, Father Hayes took post-graduate studies at the Divine Word Institute, London, in accordance with the up-dating Ja v ) called for by Vatican Council II. The pastor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Father J.G. Mooney said one of the features of the Lenten series will be a question and discussion period following each evening service. Mrs. Charlie Glavin has spent the past three months with Mr. & Mrs. Hanlon McDonald and family, Bornish and is now visiting for a while with Mr. & Mrs. Joseph Glavin and family. Mr. & Mrs. Clem Boland have returned home after a very pleasant bus trip to Florida A large crowd attended the March meeting of the C.W.L. group held Tuesday Eve in the school gym, Mr. & Mrs. Leo Girard and family, Windsor, Mrs, Rita Meloche and family spent a few days during school holiday with Mr. & Mrs. Hubert Carey. Mr. & Mrs. Guthrie Reid were supper guests on Thursday evening with Mr. .84 Mrs. Bryan Smith, Lucan. Mr, & Mrs. Hubert Desjardine and daughters, Kincardine visited over the weekend with Mrs, Catherine Morrissey. Helen McCann returned to classes in Hamilton after visiting for 10 days with her mother, Mrs. Noreen McCann and family. By MRS. Twelve ladies from Dashwood Women's Institute attended the dessert euchre at Usborne Central school last Wednesday sponsored by Elimville Institute. Sunday visitors with Mr. & Mrs. Reinhold Miller on the occasion of the latter's birthday were Mr. & Mrs. Colin Hindley and family London; Mr. & Mrs. Harold Maine, Kitchener; Mr. & Mrs. Hubert Miller and family, Mr. & Mrs. Oscar Miller and Mrs. Rosaleen Schenk, Mr. & Mrs. Lloyd Rader and Darlene accompanied by Mr. & Mrs. Leeland Restemayer spent Sunday at Brantford with Mr. & Mrs. Earl Telfer and family. Bill Rader has returned home from St. Joseph's hospital, London. Mrs. Cora Gaiser has returned home after spending several weeks with her daughter and family, Mr. & Mrs. Ray Kretz- man, Florida. She returned home with Rev. & Mrs. Bruce Seebach and family, Kitchener, who spent the winter break holidays there. conducted a contest. Mrs, R, 13roadfoot was hostess and Mrs. M. Diane Bernard spent the holiday week with Mr, & Mrs, David Triebner. Mrs. Bert Faber returned from St. Josephs Hospital where she underwent an operation. Mr. & Mrs. Art Gibson and family, Wroxeter visited with Mr. & Mrs. W.L. Mellis. Mr. & Mrs. Don Littleton London visited Mr. & Mrs. Ron Littleton. Larry Wright, Fanshawe College, was with his parents Mr. & Mrs. Percy Wright for the weekend.
