The World Day of Prayer was
observed March 1 in the school
room of the United Church with a
good attendance and the ladies of
Zion West as guests. Mrs. Wm
Essery, Mrs, John Beaton and
Mrs. George Hicks were the
committee in charge of the
program entitled "Alert in our
time."
Eleven ladies from Zion and
Centralia took part in the service.
Mrs. Russell Wilson sang a solo.
Mrs. Lorne Hicks showed slides
and gave an interesting com-
mentary on her trip to New
Zealand. The U.C.W. president,
Mrs. Robert Blair welcomed the
guests and presided over the
business.
Over 20 visits were reported.
Mrs. Kenneth Hodgins gave a
report of the Presbyterial in
Seaforth and made reference to
the guest speaker, Mrs. Patricia
Clarke, editor of the Church
Observer. April 18th is the date
for "Luncheon is served" in the
church and tickets may be ob-
tained from U.C.W. members.

"Leisure Lovers" held their
meeting at the home of Mrs. John
Beaton, Ten members answered
the roll call. Samples of french
and flat-fell seams were con-
structed and stay stitching and
darts were discussed.
Euchre Party
Mr. & Mrs. Tom Kooy and Mr.
& Mrs. Lawrence Hirtzel were in
charge of euchre party in the
community centre Monday night.
