Plans of the proposed sewage works will be available for inspection in the offices of the municipal clerks of the Village of Grand Bend and the Township of Stephen. Thursday night supper guests with Mr. & Mrs. Lorne Devine were their aunt and uncle, Mr. & Mrs. Percy Willed, Zurich. Bob l3oerner of Mio, Michigan spent a few days last week visiting his Adams and Morenz relatives and other friends in this area and returned home again Monday. Ruthie and Lisz Martin Crediton spent the weekend with their grandparents, Mr, & Mrs. Les Adams, while their parents Mr. & Mrs. Peter Martin spent the weekend in Fordwich with Mr. & Mrs. Don Coughlin and family, Mr. & Mrs. Dick Zielman and family visited Sunday in Leamington with Mrs. Zielman's sister, Susan Janzen. Mrs. John Miller introduced the guest speaker Mrs. Murray Christie Cromarty who took everyone on an interesting "journey" to England, Scotland and Ireland by word and pictures, Mrs. Frank Hamilton con- ducted a thought provoking contest on public relations. Whalen pair attend Charlie Pride Show Mrs. John Scott spent the weekend in Barrie with her parents and also attended the funeral of her uncle. Mr. & Mrs, Hamilton Hodgins and Berton were Saturday evening visitors with Mr. & Mrs. Allan Hodgins. Mr. & Mrs. Larry Hern travelled to Detroit on Sunday to attend the Charlie Pride show of country and western music in Cobo Hall. World Day of Prayer Cromarty Presbyterian Ladies joined with the Hibbert United Church Ladies on Friday in the Family Life Centre for the World Day of Prayer service, Mrs. Lloyd Barker presided and was assisted by Mrs. Harold Pethick, Mrs. Mac Lamond, and Mrs. Larry Gardiner, Mrs. Almer Dow presided at the piano. Mrs. Lamond introduced the guest speaker Mrs. W, Murray Mitchell, who gave a most in- teresting address on the theme, "Alert in our time." Presbyterial in Seaforth United Church last Wednesday, Michael Hughes has returned to his home in London, after a month's stay with his grand- parents, Mr. & Mrs. Orval Mellin while his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Wayne Hughes were vacationing in Arizona. Ken Eagleson, who is employed at Sif ton Properties, London, attended their convention in Toronto during the past week, By the way: With the Huron by- election coming up, its quite a Riddell as to who will be Carrolling as he occupies the Southcott in the parliament buildings. —Di tEI trg A refreshing tax break. 4-H The second meeting of the Staffa "Knit Wits" 4-H club was held the morning of March 3 at Mrs. Butson's home. The roll call which was, "pattern and fabric you have chosen, type of knit, fibre content, and how you prepared it" was answered by all girls. Mrs. Jeffery discussed using the patterns and then showed how to "ease" in material for mat- ching notches. Mrs. Butson then talked about how to adjust pat- terns for knits. This was followed by Mrs. Jeffery telling how to alter patterns while Mrs. Butson demonstrated how to lengthen or shorten the bodice and adjusting the shoulder length. Mrs. Jeffery then explained how to alter patterns for pants while Mrs. Butson demonstrated adjusting the crotch length, altering width of thighs and altering leg lengths. Mrs. Butson discussed cutting and marking your fabric with Mrs. Jeffery demonstrating this topic. By MRS.
