SANFORD HUTTON WINCHELSEA The first meeting of Elimville No. 3 4-H club was held recently at the home of Mrs. Murray Coward, The following officers were elected: president, Jane Van Rostel; rotating secretary, Janet Kerslake; press reporter Diane Hutton. Theme of the club is "Sportswear with Knits". The second meeting was held at the home of Mrs, Wayne Prance. The girls decided to cal their club the "Knitter-bugs". The girls were shown alterations, cutting, marking and fitting of garments. Personals Mr. & Mrs. Sanford Hutton visited Sunday with Mrs. Reuben Pehlke, Monk ton, and John Hutton, Listowel, who are patients in Listowel Memorial Hospital. SUE 'EDGINTON Mr. & Mrs. Joe Cunningham and family, London, entertained Mr. & Mrs. Wilfred Cunningham, Mr. & Mrs. Arnold Harper, St. Pauls, and Mr. & Mrs. A. Ford, Murhirk. The occasion was Mr. W. Cunningham's birthday. Mr. & Mrs. Ron Atchsion and Cpl. and Mrs. W. Wicks, Lucan spent the weekend in Lions Head snowmobiling. Dr. & Mrs. Bruce Lowden entertained Dr. & Mrs. A. Por- zekanski, London Saturday evening. Mr. & Mrs. Jerry Edginton and boys enjoyed the winter carnivals in Goderich and Mitchell on the weekend. The Clandeboye No. '3 "Leisure Lovers" held their third meeting at the home of Mrs. Ralph Lynn. Pattern layouts, clipping, marking and alterations were discussed and demonstrated. with their mothers and leaders enjoyed an African banquet in the Sunday school auditorium. The menu included peanut soup, fish, lamb, beef and chicken dishes, fruit, and coconut buns. Case Van Raay. and his daughter Theresa, representing the Association for the Retarded, were present and received the cheque for $233.54 for the adult workshop. The Explorers raised the money last June by a walkathon to Exeter. A number of the group sang several African songs. Tuesday evening Walter Day, representative of Jesus to the Communist World Mission, spoke to the Youth Fellowship on the Church in Communist Countries. Wednesday he addressed a group of people who gathered in the manse. Personals Rick Bowers is a patient at St. Joseph's Hospital; Mrs. Emmery Fahrner was admitted to South Huron Hospital last Wednesday. Ron Green is attending auto mechanic classes at Conestoga College for eight weeks. He received a leave of absence from Prosper Van Bruaene's garage, Grand Bend where he is em- ployed. Paul Fydenchuk was at Collingwood with a group of skiers from the Exeter High School several days last week. Mr, & Mrs. Fred Van der Heide, Denfield, were Sunday guests of Mr. & Mrs. Will Oestricker. Mrs. Orville Jones is with Mr. & Mrs. Glen Walters, Preston, caring for a third grandson who arrived last week. Attending the Good Roads Convention in Toronto are Frank Mcisaac, Joe Dietrich, Steve Dundas, Ken Campbell and Eldon Smith. Mr. & Mrs. Clare Sparling and family and Mrs. Hilliard Sparling, Walkerton, spent Sunday at the home of Mrs. Clayton Sims. Mr. & Mrs. Kenneth Nelson, London, have purchased the home of Mr. & Mrs. William Averill on Main Street. Rev. Douglas Warren, Steve Dundas and Rev. They stayed at Waikiki Beach on the island of Oahu enjoying all varieties of food, seeing pineapple fields and a Polynesian show. They flew hack by 747 to Toronto the day the windchlll reading was minus 30 degrees. 4-H 4-H Knotty Knits group of 19 opened its meeting with the pledge. Roll was answered by showing pattern and material to be used. A sample of a bound neckline described by Mrs. Kelders was demonstrated by Ellen Van Leeuwen on the sewing machine. After a group work session on pinning and cutting patterns the meeting was closed. Euchre The Euchre at the Anglican Parish Hall had six tables playing. Prize winners were; ladies high, Olive Webb; low, Lacy Lake; men's high, Heber Davis, Centralia; low, Walt Crumplin; lone hands, Nellie Trott; lucky tally card, Helen Grieves, Dashwood. Bingo The bingo last Tuesday had a very good turnout. Regular prize winners were Antoinette Mommersteeg, Mrs. H. Lake, Ramona Verhoeven, Mary Anne Kelders, Andre Char trand, Angela Robitaille, Judy De Jong, Lorene Ducharme, Dora Rood, Francis Wiendels, Mrs. Chris Abel, RoseMary Vandenberk, Kay Green, and Susan Masse. Share the wealth winners were Louise Vandenherk, Patty Meloche, Mrs. Mommersteeg Caron Gatehouse, Ramona Verhoeven and Ellen Van Leeuwen. Shirley Page and Ken Market won the consolation prizes.
