Cancer Society
to see new film
The campaign and education
chairman and the president of the
Lucan-Biddulph branch of the
Canadian Cancer Society, met in
the United Church school rooms
Thursday evening to plan a
campaign-educational evening.
This will take place March 22 in
the United Church.
A new film "Check Point" will
be shown, and discussed. There
will also be a speaker from
London, followed by a question
and answer period.

ELIMVILLE
The Elimville annual meeting
and pot-luck supper was held on
Wednesday evening at Elimville
United Church, Rev. Robinson
presided and Mrs. Elson Lynn
was recording secretary for the
business. The trustees and
stewards were amalgamated and
now are the board of
management consisting of 12
members, New members are
Lorne Elford, Bruce Delbridge
and Howard Pym plus one
member from the young peoples
union for a one-year term,
Bruce Delbridge was appointed
as an elder. Manse committee is
comprised of Mrs, John Batten,
Mrs. Howard Pym, Ron Elford
and Harold Bell. Ruth Skinner
was appointed missionary and
service treasurer for Thames
Road and Elimville charge, John
Ridley and Squire Herdman are
the usher committee and all other
officers were re-appointed.
Howard Pym expressed ap-
preciation to Barry and Lynn
Robinson for their wonderful
leadership at Elimville Church
the past year.

The February meeting of the
Elimville Women's Institute was
held Wednesday afternoon with
the president Mrs. Elson Lynn in
charge. Roll Call was "What
Conservation means to you?" All
branches of South Huron were
invited to a dessert euchre at
Usborne Central School March 21
celebrating the 25th anniversary
of Elimville W.I.
The Exeter Fair Institute
Display was named by Kippen
and the committee in charge are
Mrs. Philip Hern and Mrs. Tom
Hern. Elimville W.I. will be in
charge of the birthday party at
Huronview in August. A donation
of $15 was made to the Exeter
Fair Board and the 4-11 girls are
to be invited to the April meeting.
The agriculture and Canadian
industries program was in
charge of Mrs. Kay Grubb and
Mrs. Emerson Penhale. Mrs.
Howard Pym and Mrs. Philip
Johns led in an action song. Mrs.
Grubb introduced the speaker,
Roger Martin, manager of the
Ausable-Bayfield Conservation
Authority . He gave an in-
teresting outline of the work
involved with the conservation
parks and showed slides of the
parks and dams involved in this

was held in Staffa hall Friday
evening with Circle H of the
Staffa Womens Insitute in
charge, There were 6 tables in
play and prizes were awarded to

last Monday night at the hall and
prizes were given to ladies high,
Mrs, Emery Lucan; mens high,
Lawrence Beckett, Woodham;
lone hands, Allen Berry,
Woodham; and lucky prize, Mrs.
Jack Blair,
4-H
The Elimville 4-H club No. I
was held on Monday evening at
the home of the leader Mrs.
Lorne Johns. There were 11
members present,
Officers elected were president
Judy Hern; vice-president, Joan
Pym; and secretary, Nancy
Herm Leaders are Mrs. Johns
and Mrs. Ross Skinner,
Mrs. Johns gave an outline of
the meetings and told about the
types and weights of knits. Mrs.
Skinner discussed the sewing box
equipment, fibers for knits and
had Karen Skinner and Linda
Hem demonstrate taking
measurements for their pattern
sizes. The mothers were also
invited to this meeting.
Mrs. Johns served refresh-
ments at the close over a
discussion period of patterns and
different sportswear.
