Tuckersmith township council
signed a subdivision agreement
with 260303 Sholdings Ltd., of
Kitchener, the owners of
Vanastra at a meeting in
Bayfield Tuesday.
Fred Ginn, one of the owners of
the company attended the
meeting as well as William J.
Dickson, president of G. & V.
Kleinfeldt and Associates of
Kitchener, planning consultants
hired by the company.
Council discussed with the two
men requirements necessary to
be met prior to registration of the
final plan for the subdivision.
In other business, council
conditionally accepted the
engineer's report for repair and
improvements to the Clark
drainage works. Clerk James
McIntosh was instructed to
prepare a cash bylaw for the

members attended the meeting
held in Goderich Rebekah Lodge
on Tuesday evening to honor the
Assembly President Mrs. Mavis
Slater. The members par-
ticipated in the closing excercises
of the lodge. Members also at-
tended a tea at Edelweiss
Rebekah Lodge on Tuesday in the
assembly president's honor and
the District Deputy President,
Mrs. Margaret Sharpe of Huron

by 4-H girls
The first meeting of the Hensall
4-H club was held at the home of
Mrs. Bill Fuss, Monday evening.
The project for this session is
"Sportswear from knits." The
officers were elected as follows:
president, Aileen Klungel;
secretary and press reporter,
Agnes Van Esbroeck; treasurer,
Susan Stretton, The
requirements of the project were
discussed.

Township engineer Henry
Uderstadt, Orangeville, was
present at the meeting to explain
the report and to answer
questions by three of the
ratepayers affected by the drain;
Ross Forrest, James McGregor
and Nick Blom, all of RR 2,
Kippen.
The court of revision for the
Clark drain will be held March 20.
Mr. Uderstadt also discussed
the report of the Dallas drainage
works with another group of
ratepayers who will be assessed
the cost of that drain: Jack
VanMiltemburg, Preston Dallas,
Garrit Wynja and JimPapple, all
of RR 4, Seaforth.
Unhappy with the amounts
assessed against their property,
the owners required a lengthy
and detailed explanation from
Mr. Uderstadt on methods of

The first meeting of Kippen 4-H
club was held Wednesday at the
home of Mrs. Grant McGregor.
The leaders for this club are Mrs.
McGregor and Mrs. Ray Consitt.
There are 9 girls in the club

Lynn Alderdice, secretary; and

The U.C.W. of St. Andrews
Church Kippen was held
February 13 at the church with
Mrs. Ken McLellan and Mrs.
Robert Turner, hostesses. The
worship was taken by Mrs.
Leonard Lovell and the topic on
India was given by Mrs, Gerald

The court of revision for the
Dallas drain was set for March 20
when owners can have their
written objections considered if
they desire.
Tenders were opened for the
demolition of the former three
storey Logsdon building on the
dividing line between Tucker-
smith township and Seaforth.
They are to be discussed with
Seaforth before any decisions are
reached,
Council spent considerable
time discussing the financial
situation of the Tuckersmith
Municipal Telephone System. At
the annual meeting of the
telephone system held yesterday,
council was asked to issue
debentures for $125,000 if 100
subscribers of the system voted
approval of the proposal. The
money would be used to improve
the system such as laying cable
and changing the billing system.
No decision was reached.

World Day of Prayer
becomes family affair
The World Day of Prayer is a
family affair. It is no longer only
the women's day of prayer; men
and young people are all asked to
join in celebrating this World Day
of Prayer loge ther.The date is the
first Friday, March 2 this year in
Hensall. The service will be held
in St, Pauls Anglican Church at 3
p.m. with all local congregations
taking part.
The speaker is Mrs. Eric
Luther of the Salvation Army and
a member of the United Church,
an executive of the Exeter
District Christian Womens Club.

and meet human need through
Hensall resident
passes away
A Hensall resident, Charles
Wilson passed away in South
Huron Hospital, Exeter,
February 19, 1973.
He is survived by his wife, the
former Gladys Hall of Hensall,
and two sons, Bruce of Van-
couver and Granger of Califor-
nia. A private funeral service will
be held from the Hopper-Hockey
Funeral Home, Exeter February
22, with Rev. Wilfred Jarvis
officiating.
Interment will take place in
Exeter Cemetery.

Chiselhurst U.C.W.
The February meeting of the
Chiselhurst U.C.W. was held
Tuesday afternoon with a pot-
luck dinner and quilting. Mrs.
Alvin Cole opened the meeting
with a poem entitled "Belief".
The worship entitled "Planning
for India's Future" was taken by
Mrs.FredoBoa. Mrs. Edwin Dick
read a poem for the program.
Mrs. Ross Riley gave the first
chapter of the study book on
India. The hostess for the af-
ternoon was Mrs. Gerald Glenn.

euchre party
A good crowd attended the
euchre in the Hensall Legion Hall
on Wednesday evening sponsored
by the Hensall Womens Institute.
With 14 tables in play, the win-
ners were: ladies high, Mrs.
Mary Broadfoot, Kippen; ladies
low, Mrs. Leona Parke; mens
high, Clarence Volland; mens
low, Ernie Whitehouse; most lone
hands, Carl Payne.
A draw for a mat was won by
Mrs. Joyce Pepper, and a box of
chocolates was won by Mrs.
Winston Workman, Exeter.
