IT'S NOT SO BAD — Caroline Conlin, 4, is obviously an old pro at getting neddles as she actually musters
up a smile for the London-Middlesex District Health Nurse who is about to make the injection. But her
brother, Michael, 2, isn't quite so sure, Neither one shed a tear, however, but of course, the presence of their
mother, Mrs. Mary Conlin, RR 2, Lucan helped a great deal. They are attending a clinic held at the Lucan
United Church last Thursday. T-A photo.

Early Sunday afternoon, a

Marys Memorial hospital suf-
fering a concussion after he lost
control of his vehicle on a patch of
ice on Concession road 6 in West
Nissouri township.
The left rear fender of the
Hounsell vehicle hit a hydro pole
and was damaged to the extent of
$150. Constable B.D. Munro in-
vestigated.

DALEY'S WEEKLY COMMENTS
People living near Lucan
Public School were probably
startled last Thursday to see the
ambulance pull up to its front
door. It was not an emergency
call, however. Pupils of grade 2 in
Mrs. Mills' room who are
studying about Lucan in Social
Studies, had arranged with Bill
Haskett to give them a first hand
lesson,
Needless to say Bill's
demonstration was one that
won't soon be forgotten. Pupils in
Mrs. Allison's and Mrs.
McRoberts' rooms were also
delighted to be shown through the
ambulance.
Their current social studies
theme is "What I want to be".
Many have now decided they
would like to be ambulance
drivers. ay

Minister reports
on conference
Sunday morning the service
was led by Rick Thornton.
George Eizenga gave the
message. The theme was on
facing the fact that Christian life
is one of trials and testings, and
that we are the stronger for them
when we trust the Lord to bring
us through. Marlene Butler sang
a ,duet with Mrs. M. Dykeman.
Rev, Thornton was back for the
evening service, and he gave a
good report of the quarterly
conference he and Mrs. Thornton
attended at Toronto on Saturday.
Mrs. Dykeman, Mrs. Thornton,
and Marlene Butler sang a trio
number. Rev. Thornton's
message was on the coming rise
of the man of sin who the Bible
says will one day rule the world.
.through false promises of peace.

On Sunday the flowers were
given in memory of Mrs. Grace
Bloomfield, Rev. R.A. Carson
preached on the `unity of the
Church.' He said St. Paul in his
letter to the Galatians emphasized
the oneness of Christ, `We are all
one in Christ Jesus.' It is this
faith in Jesus Christ that makes
us one regardless of sex, colour
or social station, Mr. Carson said
we should accept Christ as our
Lord and Saviour then there
would be no loneliness or despair.

BEFORE AND AFTER — Both
mother and son look a little
worried but Robbie was certainly
making a lot more noise as he
received a vaccination at a health
clinic held in Lucan United Church
last week. Holding Robbie is his
mother, Mrs. Robert Gee, Lucan,
and helping is Miss Margaret
Smith from the London-Middlesex
District Health Unit. After it's all
over, Robbie isn't quite sure he
trusts anyone yet, but he makes a
very brave effort. T-A photo
