who moved to their new home in

Church Service
Church Service on Sunday was
held at the home of Mr, and Mrs.
Larry Greenlee. Following the
service, the annual vestry
meeting was held, Rev, Savory
opened with prayer, reports were
presented, showing all accounts,
The same slate of officers were
returned and new projects were
discussed,
Plans were made to repair
windows in the parish hall, and
basement and the meeting closed
with prayer and the hostess
assisted by Mrs. G, Anderson,
Exeter served refreshments.

The community mourns the
less of one senior citizen, the late
Harold Lynn, suddenly on
Wednesday morning.
A number of ladies in the area

patient in St. Joseph's Hospital

Mrs. L. Derbyshire who has
been confined to her home, with
the flu is now able to be around.

family have recently spent two
weeks travelling in Florida.

been in Florida where they have
built a new home. Mr. & Mrs. Phil
Lewis and family have left to
spend some time in Florida also,

The United Church at Clan-
deboye had "Supper is Served"
before their Annual Meeting.
There was a good attendance at
the supper hour - the Rev, W.
Tupling chaired the meeting,
reports were given and elections
of officers were held. Mrs. J.
Scott was secretary for the
evening,
Mr. & Mrs. Gerald Millson and
Debbie entertained Mr. Milison's
parents Mr. & Mrs. Clarence
Millson and Mr. & Mrs. Ralph
Millson and family, London on
Sunday.

Mr. & Mrs. Eldon Robinson
visited Monday afternoon with
Mr. & Mrs. Wilson Derbecker at
Goderich.
Herman Paynter has returned
home after having surgery at St.
Mary's Memorial Hospital,
St, Paul's A.C.W. met Thur-
sday evening at the home of Mrs,
Win, Schaefer. Mrs, Gerald Paul,
vice president presided at the
meeting, Mrs. Bill Waghorm and
Mrs. Miller McCurdy were
conveners. Susan and Debbie
Schaefer gave interesting
speeches. Lunch was served by
Mrs. Wtn, Blackler and Mrs.
Harold Davis.
Bill Atthill has returned home
after knee surgery at St.Joseph's
Hospital London,
Mr. & Mrs, Jack Robinson have
returned home from a weeks

Mr. & Mrs, A. Baker and
family, Mooresville will be
leaving the community shortly as
Mr. Baker has been promoted to
manager of his firm.

mittee is composed of wardens,
vestry clerk, Jim Cunningham,
Alton O'Neil, Alan Hill, Bob
Hodgins, and Tom Tomes.
The church revenue has con-
tinued to increase but so has the
church's expenses so the year
ended with a small deficit. Plans
were made to look into the
possibility of changing the rec-
tory arrangements. Also the
vestry was informed that new
lights would be installed in the
basement hall. An electric heater
is to be purchased for the church
vestry.
Votes of thanks were given to
the organists, Mrs. A. Hill and
Joan Cunningham; the Sunday
school teachers, Mrs. S. St,
Pierre, Mrs, R. Hodgins, Mrs. C.
Carter and Mrs, ft. Cunningham
and to Mrs. Mary Carter and
Mrs. Evelyn O'Neil for the care
of the chancel.

The Exeter Legion bantams
turned in an impressive per-
formance Saturday as they
travelled to Camp Borden for an
exhibition game,
Coach Ossie Osgood took his
club back to his old stamping
grounds and came up with a 3-3
tie with Camp Borden, an "A"
class club,
Phil Knight led the Exeter
scoring attack with a pair of
goals while Doug Osgood was the
other marksman,

elects new officers

Friends , neighbors and
relatives gathered at Shipka
Community Centre last Wed-
nesday evening to honor Mr. SE
Mrs. Bill Ratz who were recently
married. The evening was spent
playing progressive euchre and
winners were: ladies high,
Harriet Sheppard; ladies low,
Mrs. Bob Adams; men's high,
Jim Pickering; Men's low, Ivan
Sharpe.
An address was read to the
young couple by Mrs, Ross
Pickering and they were
" presented gifts of a lamp and ash
tray by Ervin Ratz. Bill and Jane
both expressed thanks to all,
from a lo-day hospital stay.
Mrs. Verne Sharpe is visiting a
few days this week in
Mississauga with her son and his
wife, Mr. & Mrs. Glenn Sharpe.
Mr. & Mrs. Ken Baker attended
a bus driver's dinner Saturday
evening at the Zurich hotel in
honor of Les Gibson who was
retiring,
Mr, & Mrs. Art Meininger
attended the funeral of their
sister-in-law, Mrs. Alex
Meininger, last week in Detroit.
