The group of young people
behind the organization of the Big
Toe coffee house have decided it
is time to do some re-
organization. At a meeting held
Monday night, a group of 13 or 14
young people discussed the
possibility of getting more adults
involved in the workings of the
coffee shop.
"We would like them in
whatever capacity they want to
be in," said Fred Simmons, one
of the mainstays behind the
coffee house.
He said these involved would
also like to organize some sort of
loosely planned program in-
cluding such things as films,
weekend entertainment and
perhaps a Saturday afternoon
program, The plait would be very
flexible, said Fred, It would be up
to the individuals to initiate the

The Dashwood Trustee Board
held their first meeting of the 1973
session Monday in the com-
munity hall. The following ap-
pointrnents were ratified; Doug
Riddell, chairman and
representative on the community
centre board; Bud Schroeder,
chairman of the Hydro com-
mission; George 'Tiernan,
Inspector of roads and drains,
It was agreed that regillar
monthly meetings of both the
trustee board and the hydro
commission will be held the last
Tuesday of each month at 8:00
p.m. in the community centre.
These meetings are open to the
public and attendance, com-
ments, and suggestions will be
welcomed. The appointment of a
secretary-treasurer was deferred
until the next meeting.
The preparation of the 1.973
budget was discussed and will
commence as soon as the 1972
assessment evaluations are
received from the respective
township clerks. Bud Schroeder
was asked to contact the Zurich
Hydro Commission for the im-
mediate removal and storage of
Christmas decorations.
The remuneration program for
trustees was reviewed and set as
follows: $6 for each local meeting
of the trustee board; $6 for each
local meeting of the Hydro
Commission and $12 plus ex-
penses for each out of town day-
time meeting. This new scale
represents an increase of $1, $1
and $2 respectively. The next
meeting will be held January 30,
at 8 p.m. in the community
centre.
types' of programs they would
like to have.
He said that there are several
reasons for the re-organization of
the coffee-house. "For one thing,
we're not making any money",
He added that it was difficult to
get any sort of organized
schedule set up, because
although there are many people
interested in keeping the coffee
house open, nobody is quite sure
what they want to use it for.
In addition, said Fred, if
anyone does come up with an
idea, lack of finances and other
facilities make it very difficult to
put the idea into action.
He said the young people in-
volved need the encouragement
and aid of adults to make these
accomplishments. Consequently,
a meeting is being held next
Monday night with the coffee

the Positive"

made up of Rev. Glenn Wright,
Rev. Biff Jarvis, Rev. Jack
Roeda and the RAP represen-
tative Bruce Shaw, and any
adults interested in the project.
The time and location of the
meeting have not yet been set.
In reference to criticism
leveled at the Big Toe before
Christmas, Fred said that there
have been three health inspectors
to visit the coffee house, but that
he has had no feedback what-
soever from them.

service for Pastor F. Morgret in
