Thursday evening in the church basement with Mrs. Mac Hodgert as hostess. Mrs. Barry Robinson, program opened the meeting with a poem "The New Year", A hymn was sung and Mrs. Bev Alexander led in prayer. Mrs. Robinson read the Scripture lesson. Offertory prayer was given by Mrs. Robinson. Rev, Barry Robinson was in charge of the installation of of- ficers and a hymn concluded the installation service, A reading, "Legends for the Seventies" was given by Mrs. Donald Bray. Mrs. Robinson closed the Worship Service with prayer. A reading "Words From The Wise" was given by Mrs. Murray Dawson and a piano solo by Mrs. William Rohde. Introduction to the Study Book on India was given by Mrs. Bev Alexander, Mrs. Donald Bray and Mrs. Robinson. Pictures and commentary on India were given by Mrs. Robinson, followed by a discussion on India with whole group taking part. Two ladies dressed in Indian costume served Indian food. Mrs. Lloyd Ballarityne opened the business with. a poem "Take Time". Roll call was answered with a jumbled word from India, Personals Margaret Parsons, Hurondale spent the weekend with Miss Janice Stewart. Mrs. Lewis opened the meeting with a devotional reading on "Prayer" Mrs. Jack Hodgson gave a reading followed with two poems given by Mrs. Edwin Morley and one by Kathleen Morley, Mrs. Lewis gave a reading on "History of Ailsa Craig". Mrs, Sid Baker discussed the motto, "A thought for the new year." Mrs. Weigand read an article discussing the different crafts people in Dashwood were' involved in. Following this Mrs. V.L. Becker displayed her painted articles and Mrs. Eben Weigand showed how to make cushion covers. A draw was held for a cushion and the lucky winner was Mrs. Howard Datars. Two cushion covers were also given to Mrs. Emil Becker and Mrs. Leroy Gowanlock, President, Mrs. Gordon Bender, presided for the business. Mrs. Weigand read a letter from Brother Mittleholtz telling of his work in India and tharting the ladies for their interest. The ladies were invited to the 4-H achievment day at South Huron high school January 13. Four euchre parties are to be held in January and February, the first being January 16. Personals Persona Is Mrs, Martha Miller has returned home after spending the Christmas and New Year with Mr. and Mrs. Siegfried Miller and family, Port Dover. Mr. & Mrs. Norman Fischer are holidaying in Florida. Mrs. Melvin Greb has returned home from Victoria hospital, London, where she underwent surgery. Karen Miller, Zion, spent some time last week with her grand- parents, Mr. & Mrs. Irvin Rader. Mr. & Mrs. Lloyd Howe and girls, London, visited with Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Rader, Sunday. Mr. & Mrs, Ross Love visited with Mr and Mrs. Everett Sparling, Goderich, Sunday. Euchre party was held at Brinsley Community Centre Friday evening with conveners Mr. & Mrs. Roy Hodgins and Mr. & Mrs. Harvey Hodgins. Win- ners were: ladies high, Mrs. Lon Hodgins; lone hands, Marjorie Steeper; low, Mrs. Charlie Mason; gents high, Joe Carter; lone hands, Lon Hodgins; low Norman Lewis. Mr. & Mrs. Garnet Trevithick, St. Thomas, visited Wednesday with Mr. & Mrs. Jack Trevithick.
