By DEANA BEAMAN Hensall Twas the night Wort,' Christmas When the clock.truck nine, A mouse began squeaking How the dog whined, lie started to yelp, and then to howl He covered his ears with a wet paper towel The noise was unbeaible, to hear that dog bark Isn't it too bad he wasn't a lark? The neighbours were shouting No more was it dark the lights were all blaring. The neighbours and friends their eyes were glaring. We all began yelling and screaming aloud And then the dust rose in one big cloud. The kids just stood there like stupid clops, Not saying a word just wondering aloud, "Oh what will we do if the chandelier drops?" And then a rumble went through the old house The walls were shaking, the floor began quaking The neighbours were scared Aunt Marthy was tr 9. When out from tne chimney an old man appeared With a red cherry nose and silky white beard. His clothing was covered with dirty old soot, His one boot was missing from off his left foot He must be , he isn't. . oh, maybe he is. He put out a toy, it couldn't be his. Oh, wait, the name tag says his. We searched through the house No his could be found but under the sink Was hiding a mouse So it caused the trouble, that tiny thing. And all of a sudden it started to sing, The squeaking was terrible the noise unbearable The dog started wining when through the night air. "Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night." Hello Santa Claus By By MARY MANDERS St. Patrick's One night, in bed, Susan was thinking about Santa Claus. If only she could go to the North Pole then she could see Santa Claus, She went to school and told her teacher about her dream. Susan said, "If I could go and see I would tell him what I want for Christmas." Then Susan went home and asked her mother if she could go to the North Pole to see Santa. Then it was night, Susan had another dream. She dreampt that she went to the North Pole and saw Santa Claus. Susan knocked on Santa's door. One of the elves answered. It was the red elf. The red elf said, "Yes may I help you?" "Sure come on in. Hi Santa! Ho! Ho! Ho! MERRY CHRISTMAS My Christmas Spirit By BETTY LYNN KOEHLER Hensall Twas the night before Christmas When the lands were all white; Then when Santa came jingling, What a beautiful sight. All the children were tucked in their warm snuggly beds, When Santa's nine reindeer were all being fed; They were terribly anxious for morning to come, To see what dear Santa had left for their mom. They were running and jumping when morning arrived, Then they raced down the stairway for all of their lives, When they found such, nice presents beneath the green tree, They were suddenly glad they were actually free, Now this is the feeling I feel every year, And to all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. The Best Of The Century By KEISTA MOROZ Exeter Christmas long ago father and son would go out to the woods and chop down a tree for the holidays. Now a days we go out and buy a tree or use last years artificial tree. They used Gingerbread cookies and popcorn chains and all sorts of homemade things for the decorating of the tree. Today we go out and buy Christmas lights of all colours, tinsel garland, icicles, and angel hair. Most of their Christmas gifts were made by mother and father. In these days we go out and buy gifts and toys which the children see on T.V. Christmas is Christ's birthday who is the Son of God. In these and those days God means for man to love each other, to live in peace, and good will towards all men. It was Christmas Night By MARIAN VAN HEUVEL St. Patricks' It was Christmas night, There was no one in sight The tree was decorated, The children slept and waited, Their socks which were red Were hung by the bed, Suddenly a loud click, They knew twas St. Nick, Twenty minutes he spent, Then he quickly went, He was a jolly old man, Though he never ran, And there on his back, Was a large sack, He pulled out a toy, For the little boy, And for sweet Polly, He took out a dolly, For six year old Paul, He brought a ball, His beard which was white, Glistened in the night, Then away he did go, Through the dark and the snow, So when you hear a click, It may well be St. Nick. Who's Coming Down The Fireplace The Trials and Tribulations , of Christmas By BRENDA PEPPER Hensall . By JOANNE ONDREJICKA Stephen Central Who's coming down the fireplace, With a bright red jacket and white around the base, And two happy dimples that cover up his face. Than he puts the presents down with a quick fast pace, And jumps up the chimney like a flying ace. Then into the sleigh he hops with grace, And eight little reindeer fly off into space. A familiar ring's in the air — holiday time is near. Hope it holds happiness and love abounding. Ross Francis Jesus By MARILYN COOPER Exeter He came to our world as a stranger, Just a new born Babe in a manger, God sent down His love, From heaven above, And it saves us from sin and all danger. 4 A 41 To our friends and clients.
