Douglas Warren accompanied the singing of Christmas carols. Each Sunday School class was represented by a number on the program. There were recitations, songs and plays. Darrell and Dennis Freszca tor, Heather and Robin Little and Mark Warren played piano solos. Mrs. Ken Campbell an accordion solo. Six men of the Adult Class sang with E Mrs, Gordon Finkbeiner a`c- companying them. A white gift offering was 0 received. Howard Hendrick,• Harry Schroeder, Ross Pickering E and Rev. Warren distributed the :ris gifts which had been piled under g the tree. 15' Personals Thursday Mr. & Mrs, Lorne lit Finkbeiner celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary. Their family took them to dinner at a Grand Bend restaurant. Irving Stahl left by plane for ,Q Winnipeg where he plans to spend 5' the Christmas and New Year 1 season with Mr. & Mrs, Chester & Finley and family. KEN McKELLAR CROMARTY The Christmas meeting of the Women's Missionary Society of Cromarty church was held at the home of Mrs. J. R. Jefferson, with eight members answering the roll call with a verse of Christmas Prophecy. One visitor present. The president Mrs. Mervin Dow presided and used the prepared Christmas program in the Glad Tidings as devotions. Short readings were read by Mrs. Grace Scott. Mrs. M. Lamond and Mrs. T. L. Scott. Christmas carols were also sung. Mrs. John Wallace used for her topic the Christmas message by Dr. Max By MRS. HAROLD DAVIS The Kirkton Horticultural Society's Christmas meeting was held recently at Aberdeen Hall. Christmas carol singing opened the evening. The Family Singers, St. Marys presented many numbers. The speakers, Mrs. Russell McCallum and Mrs. Allan MacDougald showed slides on Switzerland and Italy, Mrs. Lavern Rodd gave courtesy remarks and draws were made for Christmas poinsettias. Mrs. Oliver Baker conducted the election of officers, which is as follows: president, Mrs. Jim MacDougald; 1st vice-president, Mrs. Ellis Strahan; 2nd vice president, Mrs. Philip Johns; secretary treasurer, Mrs. Elson Lynn; assistant secretary, Mrs. Fred Switzer. Directors for one year, Mrs. Roy Pepper, Mrs. Wallace Selves, Mrs. Verda Morrison, Mrs, Allan Eveleigh, Mrs. V. Putnam, "God's Unspeakable Gift." Each member read a Christmas story as a current event. The annual business meeting followed when the secretary Mrs. T. L. Scott gave the 69th annual report of the Society and a very gratifying report was given by the treasurer Mrs. Lamond. After reports from each committee the following list of officers for 1973 was elected: president, Mrs. M. Lamond; 1st vicepresident, Mrs. Calder McKaig, 2nd vice-president, Mrs. T. L. Scott; secretary, Mrs. T, L. Scott; treasurer, Mrs. Calder McKaig; associate members secretary, Mrs. John Wallace; La Verne Rodd; directors for two years, Jean Copeland, Mrs, Clarence Schrader, Mrs. Leslie Waddell, Mrs. Kenneth Parkinson, Doris Elford. Associate directors, Mrs. 9live Thomson, Mrs. Keith Hern, 'Mrs. Clare Bryan, Mrs. Mervine Nairn, Mrs. Viola O'Brien,. Mrs, Karl Richardson, Each member was 'given gladioli bulbs. White Gift Servlice Kirkton United Church and Sunday School joined together on Sunday for the White Gift service with members of f the Sunday school taking part.;The children presented their white gifts, which will be sent to the Saugeen Indian Reserve at Southampton.
