The Anglican Church Women's
group met in the Parish Hall on
Tuesday evening. Christmas
plans were made and a donation
of $25 instead of a bale is being
mailed to a mission in the
Keewatin diocese.

was chosen: president Mrs.
Maurice MacDonald; vice
president Mrs, A.J. Best;

Xmas carols

The December meeting of the
United Church Women was held
Thursday evening with Mrs, Bev.
Morgan as hostess.
Mrs. Wirt, Snow, program
convener, was in charge of the
meeting. Several Christmas
carols were sung during the
evening. The Scripture was read
by Mrs. Bev. Alexander. The
meditation was given by Mrs,
Snow, Mrs. Alexander and Mrs.
Reg. Hodgert, A discussion on
ways of celebrating Christmas
was led by Mrs. Snow, followed
by "Lighting the Birthday
Candles". Mrs. Alexander read a
poem followed by prayers, Mrs.
Hodgert read The Legend of the
Bells and Mrs, Snow the story of
The Little Black Lamb.
Mrs. Lloyd Ballantyne con-
ducted the business, Mrs. Edwin
Miller and Mrs. Glen Stewart
were appointed to decorate the
Christmas trees in the church. A
letter of Christmas wishes to the
community from Cora and
Stewart Miner was read. Mrs.
Ballantyne gave a reading "An
Orange At Christmas".

Senior Citizens
The Senior Citizens met in the
Village Hall on Wednesday af-
ternoon with 16 present including
a newcomer Mrs. Lawrence,
Orchard St. A sing song was led
by Mrs. C. Reeves on the piano.
In a brief business session it
was decided to buy more games
for four. Mrs. J. Dunn read a very
funny story about "The Lion and
Albert" made famous by British
comedian Stanley Holloway.
Mrs. Reeves and Mrs. Bariteau
read and checked the numbers
called out for bingo. Prizes were
won by Mr. & Mrs. Bill Love, Mr.
& Mrs. Emery DesJardins, Mrs.
Holt, Miss Galbraith, Mrs.
Wilson, Mrs, Prance, and Mrs.
Wainwright. Tea was served by
Mrs. Reeves assisted by Mrs.
Dunn and Mrs. Plumb.
Personals
The Girl Guides decorated the
Christmas Tree at the Bluewater
Rest Home in Zurich and
Christmas carols were sung. The
senior citizens treated the Girl
Guides to refreshments,
Mrs. Donald Hamacher, Port
Franks is the new librarian to
replace Mrs. Paul Panet, at the
Grand Bend Library which,
located at the Public School on
Gill Road.
