Its aim is to help boys develop their character as resourceful and responsible members of the community by providing op- portunities and guidance for their mental, physical, social and spiritual development. Each 01' these aims is based on the principal that man must to the best of his ability love and serve God; respect and act in accordance with the human dignity and rights of individuals and recognize the obligation on himself to develop his potential. High aims and principals you might say; well perhaps they are, but what finer aims and prin- cipals for the youth of today to aim for and achieve in a world that is becoming increasingly socially detached. Over twelve million Boy Scouts throughout the world subscribe to these aims and principals and amongst those Scouts are the boys who are members of the Exeter Troop, To achieve the aims and principals of the Scouting movement, these boys need guidance and leadership and through the medium of the T- A, I would like to make an appeal to the citizens of Exeter for their help in providing leaders and councillors, Being a leader or a councillor is not difficult and has many rewards in the fun, adventure, and comradeship the Boy Scouts naturally generate. Scouting is a thoroughly worth- while "happening" so if any of your readers would like to help boys to a fuller life and give them that all important help in tran- sition from boy to manhood, I would be pleased to hear from them.
