bad moments
The first 20 minutes spent of-
ficially by the London. Kings at
their new home At the Huron
Park arena proved disastrous. In
the first period Thursday night,
the Lucan-Ilderton Jets scored
five unanswered goals and went
on to chalk up a 9-5 win Over the
London Kings.
In their second home game at
their adopted arena, the Kings
were a bit more fortunate as they
scored a convincing 12-5 win over
the cellar dwelling Woodstock
Royals, Saturday night.
Friday night, the Kings will be
back at the Huron Park arena at
eight o'clock to take on the
Stratford Perths in a regular
scheduled 011A Senior 'B' con-
test.
In Saturday's win over
Woodstock, the Kings held a wide
edge in territorial play out-
shooting the visitors by a 64-36
count,
Four members of the Kings
each scored two goals to lead the
way to the 12-5 victory. They
were Ron Schwindt, Dave Gilday,
Dave Hyman and Mark Marcera.
Checking in with one goal
apiece were captain Dave
Delpapa, Bruce Qually, Brian
Chinnick and Ray Teasdale.
Poor start
Failure to get untracked in the
first three minutes of Thursday's
game cost the King's plenty as
the Lucan-Ilderton Jets scored
three times and never looked
back,
When the Kings came within
two goals of tying the score near
the halfway mark of the third
period, a major penalty to Jerry
Vermeulen killed their chances of
getting any closer,
The Jets power play which has
been very successful in recent
weeks went to work and scored
two quick goals and the game
was over.
A full report on this game
appears elsewhere on these
pages in the Lucan-Ilderton Jets
story. g
