He was born in Ridgetown, son of the late George T. and Margaret (Laird) Mickle, and came to Kippen in 1915 upon completion of his high school education. He was associated with his father and brother in the white bean and grain business in the area and Ridgetown. During World War I, he joined the Royal Flying Corps and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant, Later, he returned to the business and the firm bought out the Donald Urquhart business in Hensall, where Mr, Mickle then settled and carried out business in Hensall, Kippen and Brucefield. A few years after his father's death in 1950, the firm became known as E.L. Mickle and Son. Mr. Mickle was over 50 years in the grain and bean industry. He was a member of the Hensall United Church,served in many capacities and was an elder for many years. Before leaving Ridgetown he was very interested in baseball and played on a senior team there, and did the same in Hensall in the twenties. Carmel Presbyterian church, Hensall was the setting for the marriage of Bevereley Anne Randall, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Randall, Hensall and William Ross Bell Hensall son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Roy Bell, on December 9 1972. Rev. Wilfred D, Jarvis per- formed the ceremony and Mrs. MalcolmDougall presided at the organ. Given in marriage by her father the bride wore a floor length dress of white velvet. Her shoulder length veil was held in place with a pearl tiara. She carried a nosegay of white carnations. The maid of honor was Mrs. James Randall Jr. sister-in-law of the bride wearing a floor length dark green velvet dress Mr. Mickle served on the Exeter School Board for 19 years and saw the building of the South Huron District High School, and la ter additions. He was a former member of the Hensall Curling Club and a Past Master of Huron Masonic Lodge No 224 A.F. and A.M. Mr. Mickle is survived by his wife, the former Dorothy Welsh; three sons, William L. Hensall; Charles T , Hamilton; Robert E., London; and two daughters, Mrs. Ross (Betty) MacMillan, Waterloo; and Mrs. Brian (Ann) Collins, Kitchener, He was the brother of Mrs. Charles (Ida) Rhodes, Sylvania, Ohio; Mrs. Robert (Margaret) Stump, Long Beach, California and was predeceased by one brother Frank, 1956. Funeral services were held in the Hensall United Church, December 7, 1972 with Rev. Donald Beck and Rev. Harold Currie, Sebringville, officiating. Interment was in Hensall Union Cemetery. Pallbearers were Harold Sturgis, London, Dr. Harvey Cowen, Exeter, Jim McAllister, Stanley Mitchell, Robert Mid- dleton and Robert Reaburn, Flower bearers and ushers were Sam Rannie, Donald Joynt, Walter Spencer, Bill Smith, Harvey Keys and Jack Drysdale. trimmed with white. - The bridesmaids, Lorraine Randall, sister of the bride and Mrs. Bill Chipchase chose floor length empire gowns of dark green velvet. The reception in the church parlours was followed by a reception and dance in the Hensall Community Centre. On their return from their wedding trip they will reside at Kippen. Out of town guests were from Dorchester, Sudbury, Huron Park, Exeter and Kippen.
