Betty Anne and Karen Miller won first prize in their class at the talent night contest held at Ontario Street United church Clinton. Other girls taking part in the dancing class were Jill liar- burn, Barbara Meikle Nancy Scott, Janice Vivian. Mr. & Mrs. John Wallace spent the weekend in Essex with their daughter, Mrs. Shirley Elliott and family, Mr. & Mrs. John Scott have moved and are comfortably settled in their new home which they had built on their one hun- dred acre farm east of Cromarty during the past summer. The contracters were R. Robinson and J. Fowler, Mitchell. It is of modern design, constructed in frame with a brick vaneer finish, contrasting greatly in size to the white brick house on the same farm, The old original log house is still standing close by on the premises. Coffee and doughnuts were served after the presentations. Saturday at the IGA the Girl Guides led by Mrs. P. Dunne and Mrs. I. Ford held a bazaar and bake sale with proceeds over $60. Contributors to the success are the staff of the Green Forest Hotel for items made for sale, Eric Mcllroy of Merry Rags for a Raggedy Anne Doll which was raffled off, as well as the IGA, and mothers who sent baked goods to be sold. ACW A potluck supper sponsored by the Anglican Church Women was held at the Parish Hall with the whole congregation invited. About 40 persons sat down to supper — The "luck" was good! Rev. W. WILLIAM ROHDE THAMES ROAD Ruth Bray had the misfortune to fracture a bone in her foot at school one day last week. Mrs. Chas. Jeffery and Glenn Jeffery accompanied Mr. & Mrs. Gordon Moir and Mrs. Madge Luther, Gorrie, to Sarnia Friday where they attended the funeral of the late Mrs. George Luther at D. J. Robb Funeral Home. Margaret Kernick, Toronto spent the weekend with her parents Mr. & Mrs. Donald Ker- nick. Mr. & Mrs. Howard Cunnington and family, Mr. & Mrs. Glenn Rohde and Danny were Saturday evening guests with Mr. & Mrs. William Rohde.
