Dr. Hart Bezner, Chairman of
the Physics Department of
Waterloo Lutheran University
and Director of W,L,U.'s COM -
puter Centre was invited to the
meeting to teach on the subject
of abortion. About 100 people
were present.
Dr. Bezner and his nurse wife
havebecome very active in the
Right of Life movement and Dr.
Bezner feels that basically, peo-
ple are instinctively opposed to
abortion and once they are con-
fronted by the real facts, these
instincts emerge.
Dr. Bezner mentioned that the
oneperson who is rarely men-
tioned by the pro-abortionists is
the unborn baby, When it is men-
tioned, it is first 'dehumanized'
when it is given names like
'fetus', 'conceptus,"morula',

Dr. Bezner quoted two anti-
abortion physicians who were
"puzzled by the willingness of
the community and of its leaders
to accept without challenge the
unreflective and subtly per-
suasive arguments of the pro-
abortionists,"
Dr. Bezner, who is a Baptist,
had kind words for the Catholics
in his audience. He encouraged
them to continue to fight for the
innocent babies. He said, 'You
people certainly know which end
is up in this issue. Don't be
defensive about your
denominational affiliation.
Furthermore, you are not a
minority group in Canada, On the
contrary, you are the largest
religious group in the country.'
Dr. Bezner expressed dismay
that his own denomination had
not become involved in the issue
which he feels is 'black and
white.' He also expressed con-

evils. He would like to know what
the other evil is,
He explained to some people

have been aborted, He had poor
and homeless parents, he was
rejected and he led a life of
suffering.
At the end of the meeting, an
eight minute movie of an actual
suction abortion was shown. Dr.
Rezner warned the audience that
the movie was not very 'pretty'
and that people should feel free
to leave if they desired. Most

He explained that the movie
was made by the company
producing some abortion in-
struments. It wag meant to be an
