Tuesday afternoons at Mrs.
Ed. Gill's a class is being held to
work with ceramic green ware
and some clay modelling. They
had the first trial of a new kiln
this week.
The Orpha Club met at Mrs.
Eva Allister :s home with 28 pre-
sent. Christmas work is
progressing satisfactorily.
Finished work and cribs were
displayed. Sue Anne Schroeder,
Dashwood, sang and played
guitar to entertain the ladies.
Rev. Ben Ogwal, Uganda was a
visitor to St. John's by the Lake
Anglican Church travelling with
the Huron College student priest
Wm. Parker. Ben was very ex-
cited by seeing snow for the first
time.
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Dace are
moving to London this week.
The Women's Institute Conven-
tion in London held at "The
Banqueter" was attended by
Mrs. Ed. Gill, Mrs. Nola Taylor,
Mrs. A. Hamilton, and Mrs. F.
Plumb, Beautiful macrame' bags
won the province-wide competi-
tion. The London Area
Tweedsmuir History Book was
displayed. Colored slides with
commentary of activities and
trips gave ideas for institute
work.
Ken Young, Rector's Warden
of the St. John's by the Lake
Anglican Church attended the
fall Statutory Meeting at St.
George's Church, Sarnia
Thursday evening, Bishop Hugh
Stiff, Keewatin diocese was chief
speaker stressing the support of
missions and showing slides on
Indians and Keewatin.

Thursday, a delicious buffet
supper was served by the 24
"Corny Cooks" 4-H group with
their mothers and W.I. members
making 16 guests. Mrs. Irvine
Ford and Miss Anne Hutchinson
were leader-Hostesses. W,I.
President Mrs. Ed. Gill ex-
pressed appreciation of the ex-
cellent meal served,
Rosemary Kelders had a
birthday so she was chosen to cut
the big 4-H cake for dessert,
The winter course is to be
sewing sportswear in knit
materials and crimplene.
Sr. Citizens
The Senior Citizens met on
Wednesday in the Village Hall
with 16 present. A sing-song was
led by Mrs. Reeves, pianist.
After a games period, tea was
served by Mrs. Susie Devine.
Mrs. Reeves displayed her oil
painted pictures of birds on cards
which were shown recently at the
Exeter Fair.

is beginning to take shape.
Mrs. Selbourne English visited
a few days last week in
Woodstock at the home of Mr. &
Mrs. Errol Nephew.
