Pigeon and Pet Stock Association
was formed at a meeting of fan-
ciers held in the Department. of
Agriculture and Food rooms at
Clinton, Tuesday night, with an
initial attendance and
membership of 29 persons.
Officers elected were Presi-
dent, Clifford Pepper, RR 1,
Dashwood; vice-pres. Ross Cud-
more, HR 5, Clinton; Secretary
Treasurer, Harvey Daniel, RR 2,
Bluevale; Directors, Earl
Becker, RR 1, Dashwood, Jack
Snell, Exeter, Douglas Vincent,
RR 4, Clinton and press reporter
Jack Snell.
Monthly meetings will be held
throughout the year for the fan-
ciers in Huron County and sur-
rounding districts.
The next meeting will be held
at the same place in Clinton on
Nov. 21 at 8:00 p.m.

South Huron girls' basketball
teams closed the 1972 season
Tuesday with a home game
against Mitchell.
South Huron juniors made it an
exciting day by forcing an over-
time period after tying the game
in the closing seconds, In the
overtime however, Mitchell
scored one basket which proved to
be the winner as the period ended
leaving Mitchell ahead 35-33.
Valerie Sweet scored 16 points
for South Huron followed by Gail
Fuller with six and Loretta
Ayotte with 5 points.
The seniors did not fare any
better, losing 35-22 to Mitchell.
Deb Riddell had five baskets and
two free throws for 12 points
while Sandra Stock earned five
points for South Huron.
The top four junior and senior
teams will compete in playoffs
for the Huron Perth Cham-
pionship and the right to repre-
sent Huron-Perth at W,O.S,S.A.
on Saturday Nov. 18.
Clinton, St, Marys, Listowel
and Stratford Central will be
meeting in the junior playoffs
while Stratford Northwestern,
Listowel, St. Marys and Clinton
meet for the senior cham-
pionship.

Gilfillan scored on a pass from
Jim Guenther at 2.48 and that
ended the Exeter scoring until
Strathroy tied the score in the
late minutes. Glover's winning
and insurance goals came at
17.38 and 19,02.
Cam Ross led the Sti athroy
scoring attack with a four goal
effort, Adding single scores were
Russ Jones, Dave Sheppard,
Barry Pawson and Don Marshall.
The Hawks picked up 13 of the
23 penalties called by referees
Ray Richards and Jim Byatt of
Stratford.

have reached an all time high
with 172 children participating.
This is about 20 more than last
year.
Gymnastics on Saturday mor-
ning at South Huron School can
handle a few more registrations.
On the recreation survey which
was taken a few weeks ago four
adults were interested in Basket-
ball. Due to the small number of
request there will be no basket-
ball. But there is a group of about
40 people playing badminton at
South Huron School on Monday
nights at 7:30. Mike Ball is in
charge of the badminton, so if
you would like to try your hand at
badminton you would be more
than welcome; this is open to
everyone.
Large crowds are attending the
public skating sessions on Satur-
day nighti 8 to 10 p.m. and Sun-
day afternoons from 2 to 4 p.m.
These skating sessions are open
to the public and everyone is
invited to come and enjoy
themselves.
There is still- room for more
boys in minor hockey, if you have
not joined come to the arena on
Saturday and you will be placed
on a team. In particular, more
...boys of ba,ntam age can be
bandied if we are to .have, a
houseleague in this age grOup
ages 12 to 14 years.
The first recored game was
very close with Taylor Motors
edging Esso's 1-0, The only goal
scored in the game was by Doug
Brooks.
The second game ended in a 3
to 2 win for Cowans B,P. over
Conklin Lumber, David Bell
started off the new season with
the "hat trick" to score all the
goals for B.P. Goal scores for
Conklin where Jeff Newby and
Doug Fletcher,
Elaine's defeated Nothers 3 to
2 in the first Pee Wee game. This
game was nip and tuck all the
way with the winner in doubt to
the very end,
Goal scorers for Elaines were
Steve Skinner, Perry Pooley and
Peter Montgomery, Marksmen
for Nothers were Dennis Presz-
cator and Brad Beattie.
The second game was a high
scoring game with Northlander
defeating Avcos 10 to 5, Two
Northlander players had the
"Hat Trick,", Randy Parsons
and Dan'ell Preszcator. Danny
Bell added two goals while Paul
Gaiser and Danny Preszcator
added one goal each. Avco goal
