Thunder Bay.
The bride's travelling outfit
was a black double-knit blazer,
black turtle-neck sweater and red
double-knit flared slacks.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Fydenchuk,
Crediton and the groom is the son
of Mr. and Mrs. John Ludwar,
Regina, Saskatchewan.
The couple will reside in
Thunder Bay.

Clandeboye United Church was
the setting for a pretty wedding
when Joan Christine Donaldson
and Scott Matthew Sweitzer were
united in marriage October 21
with Rev. Tupling officiating.
The altar was decorated with
baskets of bronze mums and
yellow daisies, trailing ivy and
fern.
The bride is the daughter of
Mrs. Ethel Donaldson and the
late James Donaldson,
Clandeboye. The groom's parents
are Mr. & Mrs. Stuart Sweitzer,
RR 2, Grand Bend.
Kathy Worthington,
Clandeboye was the organist with
Mrs. James McCarthy, Granton,
sister of the bride as the soloist.
Given in marriage by her un-
cle, Len Donaldson, London, the
bride wore a floor length gown
fashioned from chantilly lace
with high bateau neckline, fitted
bodice, empire Victorian sleeves
with pink ribbon accent and a
flowing train with butterfly
bustle back. A pearled petal
cluster held the four tiered illu-
sion bluster veil. She carried a
cascade of one dozen red roses,
pink carnations and stephanotis.
Mrs. James Sweitzer, Grand
Bend was matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Mrs. Linda
Arnold, Grand Bend, Irene
Deelstra,Lucan, June Donaldson,
sister of the bride and Bonnie
Sweitzer sister of the groom.
Theresa McCarthy, Granton,
niece of the bride was the flower
girl.
They were dressed in floor
length gowns of coral and floral
printed polyester chiffon. The
bodice of coral chiffon with em-
pire waistline was accented by a
high collar and full wrist length
Juliet sleeves, which were
decorated with a delicate chiffon
ruffle. The same ruffle formed a
''bib effect in the bodice and was
trimmed with the matching coral
velvet ribbon. The gathered skirt
was made of floral chiffon. They
wore bows of coral velvet in their
hair and carried baskets of
yellow daisies and bronze mums,
with trailing ivy.
James Sweitzer, brother of the
groom was best man. Joe Arnold,
Grand Bend, Gary Donaldson,
Clandeboye, Bob Donaldson,
Byron and Terry Pickering,
Stratford ushered the guests,
Harry Comfort, cousin of the
groom, Welland, was the ring
bearer.
Following the reception at
Zurich Community Centre the
bride changed to a purple velve-
teen three piece pant suit with
black accessories. They left for a
wedding trip to Niagara Falls
and will reside at Shipka.
Prior to the wedding the bride
was honored at showers.given by
the groom's aunts, Mrs, Milt
Sweitzer and Mrs. Jack
Pickering at Shipka Community'
Centre; Mrs. Elsie, Lewis and
girls, Clandeboye; Mrs. James
Sweitzer Grand Bend and by the
ladies of Clandeboye Uni+-
Church.
After hours of shopping in a
large department store, I started
toward the DOWN escalator. As I
neared it, another woman ap-
proached from the left, walking
fast, apparently determined to
beat me to it. There was nothing
for me to do but step aside,
But suddenly the woman
seemed to realize what she was
doing. She stopped, said,
"Excuse mel" and motioned for
me to step on the escalator first.
M I turned to thank her, she
remarked with a grin, "I drive
like that, too,"

their homes after havingsurgery
in St. Joseph's Hospital, London.
Peter Rutten sufferecia leg in-
jury at his farm. last week in the
corn picker and is now on
crutches,
Mr. & Mrs. Patrick Sullivan Sr.
have returned home after spen-
ding two weeks with Helen and
Dan Loos, Sarnia.
Paul Dietrich son of Joseph
Dietrich, is spending some time
now at his farm home having
suffered a broken leg,
Madeline and Clare Glavin
have returned after both en-
joying a holiday for two weeks
with friends.
Mr. & Mrs. Cyril Morley have
returned with their trailer home
for the winter months to sunny
Florida.
Many friends and relatives
attended the Wasnidge-Dietrich
wedding at Grand Bend last
Saturday and reception in
Dashwood Community Centre
the same evening.
Mrs. Alexine Dietrich and Mrs.
Rita Carey have returned to their
homes after being patients in St,
Cox was the organist. Mrs. Larry
(Marg) Hotson was the soloist.
Given irt marriage by her
father, the bride wore a floor
length gown fashioned with
guipure lace accenting the logoda
sheer bodice, and victorian
sleeves and with matching lace
edging the mantilla veil flowing
over the folds of the velvet skirt.
The bridal bouquet was a cascade
of orange delight roses,
and white miniature carnations,
The maid of honor was Pat
Semple, hayfield with
bridesmaids Marg Angus, Cathy
Semple, Bev Semple and flower
girl Debbie Angus.
They wore empire waisted
gowns of autumn green polyester
satin, and carried crescent bou-
quets of bronze, dark rust,
yellow and white ferns with
wheat.
Bill Taylor was the
groomsman and ushers were
Tom Dalrymple, Doug Dalrym-
ple and Brian Semple, Shawn
Semple was the ring bearer,
Following a reception held in
the church hall, the bride
changed to a travelling outfit of a
mauve and white pant suit with
black accessories.
Guests attending the wedding
were from London, St. Marys,
Stratford, Huron Park, Hensall
and Port Hope.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. R.J. Semple, RR 2,
Bayfield and the groom is the son
of Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Dalrym-
ple, Exeter.

decorated the church for the ser-
vice and Douglas Lewis provided
the music,
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore an empire-
waisted A-line gown, The bodice
and short puffy sleeves were
made of white chantilly lace and
the skirt was of white crepe with
a white satin bow at the waist
and satin hem trim. She wore a
two-tiered shoulder length silk
illusion veil with a floral head-
piece. The bridal bouquet of
yellow sweetheart roses, white
daisies, trailing ivy and baby's
breath was carried in a wicker
gathering basket.
Mrs, M. Buzanko,
Catharines was the matron of
honor.. She wore a floor-length,
gown of double-knit nylon in
shocking pink with embroidered
trim. She also wore a corsage of
white button mums with a pink
tint.
Morris Buzanko was the best
man and guests were ushered by
Paul Fydenchuk, and Wally
Fydenchuk, Jr.
