POSTAL EDGE posiFsL goal and three assists. Bob Jeffrey put the Perths in front at 8,38 of the first period and the goal stood up until the late moments of the period. The score was quickly reversed as the Jets struck quickly and scored twice in a space of 54 seconds as time was running out. • The get even goal was fired by Jacques Cousineau with Jamie Robb 'and Bill Fairbairn assisting. The go ahead marker came on another three-way passing effort with Pete Loveless finishing off the successful pattern. Assists went to Terry Bourne and Jack Nairn. In the first ten minutes of 'the middle frame the Jets really got down to business and upped their lead to 6 -1 and it looked like they were well on the way to victory, At the three minute mark, Bill Fairbairn picked up his goal and second point of the afternoon as he combined with Jacques Cousineau and Barry Baynham to put the puck behind Ken Hyde in the Stratford nets. Three minutes later, the same players responsible for the opening goal of the game for the Jets teamed up again. This time it was Jamie Robb pulling the trigger with Fairbairn and Cousineau helping out. The final two markers came quickly only 14 seconds apart just past the midway point of the period. Defenceman Barry Baynham scored the first of the two quick counters with assists going to Robb and Fairbairn while Dave Revington notched the second on a play originated by Jack Nairn and Pete Loveless. Before the second period was over Marty Schmidt tallied for the Perths and the Jets went to the dressing room with a handy 6- 2 lead. T-A photo Lose to Stratford • Jets blowfour goal lead The Lucan-Ilderton Jets were less than two minutes away from their second consecutive win in Ontario Hockey' Association Senior "B" play Sunday after- noon when the roof fell in. The roof actually fell in earlier in the third period at the Ilderton arena. The Jets were leading the Stratford Perths 6-2 after two periods of play. The Stratford club scored three times in the first eleven minutes of the closing session. With two minutes to go it still looked as if the Jets could pull out a victory as they held on to a narrow 6-5 ,margin, • Then it happened. Jim Betts scored for Stratford to tie the score at 18,27 and with only 20 seconds remaining John St. Cyr, a former Stratford junior "B" star fired the puck into the Lucan-Ilderton net to give his club a 7-6 come-from-behind • win. The Jets now all even on the season with a win' a week earlier over the London Kings take on long-time arch rivals, Durham Huskies in their next start Sun- day afternoon. The L-I club travels to Durham and a two o'clock engagement with the Huskies. It will be the first time the two clubs have met since their bitter struggle in the OHA Intermediate "B" playoffs in the spring of 1971,. At that time, the Jets ousted • the Durham club but the outcome was reversed on a protest and Durham went on to meet Napanee in the final round. Fairbairn leads Former Exeter junior star Bill Fairbairn led the Jet forwards in • the scoring department with a period starting goalie Lorne Daer was replaced by Don Stewart. The Perths scored twice on Stewart in the first three minutes of play and playing coach Jack Nairn sent Daer back between the pipes. Don Burton and John St. Cyr scored the early third period goals for Stratford and Ron Earl counted at 10.37 to set the stage for the final minute rally by the Perths. Only 13 minor penalties were called during the game with the Jets being called on seven oc- casions. • NOTICE OF NOMINATION Nominations of Separate School Supporters for Representation on the HURON COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION will be received by the undersigned Commencing on Thursday, November 9 and until 5 P.M., E.S.T., on Monday, November 13, 1972 Nominees must be a Separate School supporter and may be from any municipality within the County of Huron.
