celebrated their anniversary in
London'. The Kinettes met
Wednesday evening at the home
of Mrs. Sharon Hoffman. The
guest speaker for the evening,
Mrs. Shirley Weary, spoke on
"Women in Politics." A donation
is to be sent to the C.N.I.B.
Final preparations were made
for the fall-winter rummage sale
to be held November 3 and plans
were started for the arrange-
ment of a Christmas party. The
raffle was won by Karen Schur-
man.
4-H Club Report
The fifth meeting of the
"Roaring Twenties" was held at
the Legion Hall last Tuesday
evening. The meeting was
opened with the 4-1-1 pledge, after
which an attendance check and
roll call were taken. Everyone
made and ate egg,, salmon and
cream cheese sandwiches and
filled out hand-out sheets.

Dr. Glen Huberger, Nutritionist
from Swifts Research. Farm in
Iowa paid a visit to this part of
Ontario and addressed a meeting
of beef and hog producers in the
Community Centre last Tuesday
evening. One car load came from
Hanover and another from

Presbyterian Church, with Presi-
dent Mrs. Pollock presiding and
Mrs, Tory Soldan acting as
secretary. The President opened
the meeting with a poem, hymn
and prayer.
The nominating committee for
1973 is from Goderich. Seaforth
ladies led in the devotional. A
hymn was sung followed by scrip-
ture.
Mrs. Pollock introduced the
guest speaker, Ida White a
Missionary from India, who told
about her work there. A question
and answer period followed. Mrs.
Blanche Dougall and Mrs. Edith
Bell sang a duet accompanied by
Mrs.Munn at the piano.
Adult Fellowship Meet
The adult Fellowship Group of
Hensall United Church met
Saturday evening at the Church
for their Halloween party. Amid
Halloween decorations, old
clothes were dumped in a heap,
and everyone was given five
minutes to pick out five articles
and get them on fast, which
proved very interesting.
A parade of costumes was en-
joyed and games and contests
and bobbing for apples were un-
der the direction of Will Beck and
Moira Couper,
C.O.C. Meet
The C.G.C. of Carmel
Presbyterian Church met on Sun-
day morning. Ten members
answered the roll call by naming
the costume they were going to

Mrs. P. Packman gave an in-
spiring devotional on love. She
said that in her opinion if we
really and truly love other peo-
ple, the world would be a better
place and many of its probleMs
could be solved. .
Mrs. David Cooper gave the
topic on Africa and showed
slides.
4-H Kippen Kabobs
The Kippen 4-H Club, the
Kippen Kabobs held their fifth
meeting at the home of Mrs. R.
Bell with a discussion on
Achievement Day. Mrs. Bell
demonstrated rolled up
sandwiches and fancy
sandwiches; Lynn Alderdice
demonstrated the submarine
sandwich. Chris McGregor was
elected secretary and the buffet
dinner was discussed.
Meeting seven of the Kippen
Kabobs was held at Mrs. R. Bells
on October 23. The secretary
elected was Sharon Finlayson,
The buffet party to be held at
Lynn Alderdice's home was dis-
cussed as well as buffet dinners
and table settings. Cathy Sims
and Landa Vissher demonstrated
making cheese fondue and
chocolate fondue which were
very good.

Fairies" was held at the home of

the Dominion Hotel, Zurich Sun-
day in honour of their 45th wed-
ding anniversary. Other guests

entertained the Thames-Road-
Elimville Hi-C group at a
Hallowe'en party in the United
Church schoolroom Saturday
evening. Streamers and
Hallwe'en ' decorations were
arranged to make an attractive
setting for the occasion with 75 or
more young people in atten-
dance,

sary service of Centralia United
