OPEN DAILY The Chaparails
Thursday, South Huron girls
basketball teams visited Strat-
ford Central for a doubleheader.
Both local teams lost their games
to a determined Stratford squad.
The Juniors put forth a fine
team effort and managed to keep
ahead of Stratford until the last
quarter when two players were
fouled out as Stratford scored 15
quick points to take the victory,
The final score was 27-19.
The seniors were not as
aggressive and never had the
lead although they, too, were
close until the closing minutes.
The senior score was 40-25 for
Stratford.
On Monday of this week, the
teams made a comeback, scoring
a double victory over Wingharn.
Both games were close. The
juniors won 26-22. Gail Fuller,
Gayle Ecker, Marie Jatvis, Val
Sweet and Loretta Ayotte all
game an outstanding effort for
gte win and the team's defensive
work is much improved.
The senior girls won 26-25 with
Barbara Anne Thomas, Deb
Riddell, Jamie Kneale, Sandra
Stock and Susan Luther playing
key roles 'in a South Huron vic-
tory.
The teams play at home
against Clinton today (Thursday)
and again at home next Monday
when Goderich visits. Interested
parents are again invited to come
out and watch the girls'
basketball teams,

To give Hawks
life time passes
The Exeter Junior Hawks,
Ontario "D" champions of 1971-72
have been honored again.
With considerable persuasion,
Reeve Derry Boyle this week
managed to talk RAP members
into giving members and
management of the team a
permanent pass to all hockey
games at the local arena.
Boyle said RAP had not done
too much to honor the Hawks and
felt this would be an appropriate
and inexpensive method. He
pointed out many of the players
will not be remaining in the, area
in the future.
"It would probably cost the
arena only a few dollars over the
years," manager Alvin Willert
estimated.
Other members finally agreed
to the suggestion.
