kind of thinking but will hopefully
leach its crew how to achieve
proficiency in or at least ex-
perience a number of fields.
The ship will carry 15 people
comfortably. The idea is to have
groups of students on board for
six-week periods and $150 each
for room and board.
Under sail, the students will
man the ship, standing sea-
watches, learning navigation,
seamanship, pilotage,
meteorology and oceanography.
Ogden hopes the experience
will orientate people aboard to
the disorientation which usually
accompanies discoveries in
unfamiliar 'territory. Con-
sequently, there'll be language
lessons on board, preparing
students for the next port-of-
call, Ashore, there will be par-
ticipation in art, social,
economic, cultural and
technological spheres- all of it a
learning experience outside the
usual definition of learning,
Among the most intriguing of
the Wet Orchid's destinations
will be the Devil's Triangle, a
huge area of sea in which hun-
dreds of ships and airplanes have
mysteriously vanished, Flying-
saucer buffs have suggested it
may be an entry and exit point for
beings and machines from other
galaxies.
Frank Ogden is the sort of
person whose curiosity would
have to be aroused by such a
theory. So he'll take the Wet
Orchid and crew to the Triangle
to explore and to film their ex-
ploration, It could be tremen-
dously interesting, providing
they emerge safely.
Knowing Ogden, if they don't
we'll next hear from him via
Mars.
