The tie lasted for less than two
minutes. Dick DoUghty put the
Jets out in front to stay at 6.07

way passing play with defen-
ceman Bill Dunnell and centre
Jack Nairn.
Before time expired in the
middle frame the Jets moved into
a 4-1 lead. Two former Exeter
junior players took care of the
marksmanship.
Bill Fairbairn notched the first
score on a good effort after taking
a pass from Jamie Robb. The
other goal came on the end of a
fine individual stickhandling
effort by Barry Baynham who
manoeuvre his way through

Hodgins drew an assist on the

only 10 seconds left in the second
period and Dave Delpapa of the

penalty.

marker on a passing effort with
Tom Hudgins and Dave
Reving t on . Speedy Jamie Robb

Many returneees
In Sunday's opening win,
playing coach Jack Nairn used
basically the same club which
went to the OHA intermediate
"B" finals last spring before
losing out to Napanee.
Of the 17 players in the line-up
Sunday, an even dozen were back
from last year, All newcomers
turned in creditable per-
formances and looked right at
home in senior company.
Performing with the Jets for the
first time were Jim Pinnegar,
Bill Fairbairn and three Lucan
natives Dave Revington, Tom
Hodgins and Paul Young.
Revington, with last year's
Lucan Irish junior club wasted
little time in showing he was
ready for senior company.
In the first minute of play a
face-off in the London end, Jack
Nairn got the puck back to Dave
Revington near the left point and
the youngsters blasted a good
high shot into the far corner of the
net to send the Jets off and
winging.
The balance of the first period
was scoreless as the Jets picked
up the only three penalties of the
period and were forced to the
defensive.
Goalie Lorne Daer turned in an
excellent effort in keeping his net
clear, especially during the
shortage of manpower,
The second period was only
four minutes old when the London
club tied the score. Ray Teesdale
