Six of seven building permit
applications were approved by
Exeter council this week,
A permit was not approved for
H. Roelofson, Huron St. East, to
make basement renovations
because council ruled his ap-
plication did not provide the
information required.
Building inspector Doug
Triebner was present at the
meeting and council advised that
a "stop work" order should be
placed on the job if Roelofson
attempted to proceed without a
permit.
Council also authorized the
clerk to advise the property
owner that sanitary sewers will
not be available in that area this
year and council will not assume
any responsibility for water
damage that may arise if the
project is undertaken,
Permits approved were as
follows: Don Cowan, verandah
renovations at 82 Sanders E.;
Exeter District Co-Op, new roof;
A, Sanders, minor roof repairs at
193 Huron W.; Ted Jones, repair
verandah floor at 273 Marlboro;
Charles Becker, minor doorway
renovation at 227 Andrew.

What is one's conscience?
According to an interpretation
known among Arizona Indians:
"It's a little three-cornered thing
in my heart that stands still when
I am good, but when I am bad, it
turns around a lot, If I keep on
going wrong, soon the corners
wear off and it does not hurt
anymore."
