Hockey placed third.
In a men's club tourney,
Wednesday night George Busche
was the low gross winner,
followed by Bob Nation and Gerry
Smith. Taking the low net award

worked on this week as the two teams at South Huron District High
School prepare for exhibition games Saturday against Strathroy.

Olive Harvey was the most
successful bowler of the week at
the Exeter lawn bowling club,
Mrs. Harvey was the jitney
winner Saturday night and
placed second in Tuesday's
competition. She compiled two
wins, a plus of 16 and aggregate
of 29 to lead Saturday's bowlers.
Charles Hendy was in second
spot with a plus of 14 and
aggregate of 22 to go with a
double victory. Gertie Hamilton
placed third on the strength of
two wins, a plus of 12 and 26
aggregate,
Finishing fourth was Lillian
Pym with a plus of 11 and
aggregate of 21. Completing the
prize list were Mable Killough
and Garnet Hicks.
Harold Simpson topped the
bowlers with two victories, a plus
of 20 and aggregate of 28, Mrs.
Harvey amassed a plus of 11 and
aggregate of 29 to take second
position.
Lila Smith was third with a
score of two wins, a plus of 13 and
aggregate of 24. Gertie Hamilton
placed fourth with Bill
Etherington following in fifth
place.
Revise rate structure
for minor hockey
& Bev Skinner was elected
president of the Exeter Minor
Hockey Association, Tuesday,
succeeding Harvey Pfaff who has
held the position for the past two
years,
Bob Pooley is vice-president,
Bill Batten will serve as
• secretary and the treasurers are
Gary Middleton and Alvin
Willert.
Ray Brooks was named as the
group's representative to the
Shamrock Leage.
September 30 and October 7
• were set as registration dates for
the upcoming season. Fees have
been increased by $1, The new
rate is $8 for mite and novice
players, while pee wee, bantam
and midget is $10. The family
rate was set at $16.
Coaches and managers were
• appointed for several minor
teams. They are as follows:
novice—Steve Murley and Wayne
Pearce; pee wee—Lloyd Moore
and Bev Skinner; bantam—Ray
Brooks and Bob Osgoode;
midget—Fred Wells and Gord
Kirk; mites—Ron Horn and Tony
Ma ttucci,
Randy Preszcator was named
as houseleagne convener with
Bob Rowe being assistant.
South Huron
• league ready
Need players
for badminton
Anyone wishing to join the
newly formed Exeter Badminton
club are asked to be at the new
gym at South Huron District High
School at 7:30 Monday night.
Club members will be in action
each Monday throughout the fall
and winter months. Further
information can be obtained by
calling Mike Ball at 235-2966.
London Dukes
help children
Hensall Community park will
be the scene Friday night of an
interesting exhibition fastball
game and the winners are ex-
pected to be children afflicted
with cystic fibrosis.
The London Dukes, the top
fastball team in Western Ontario
will be meeting the Hensall
Sherwoods at 8:15 with all
proceeds going to the Cystic
Fibrosis fund.
In opening ceremonies, Lisa
Hyde, a cystic fibrosis youngster
will throw out the first pitch.
The same five teams are ex-
pected to be back to compete in
the South Huron hockey league
this winter.
At a league meeting held in
Exeter Tuesday night presided

Dashwood, Huron Park, Hensel],
Centralia Agricultural College
and Zurich being ready to go.
Ardell McIntyre of Exeter was
named president of the league

the league are asked to do so in
writing to Ross Haugh at The
Times Advocate and they will be

executive before the next
meeting scheduled forthe Exeter
town hall, September 27.

the home of Roy Morenz in Grand
Bend, Sunday afternoon to
celebrate Roy's birthday. Those.
