Nora and Margaret Hall, Windsor spent the holiday weekend with their parents, Mr. & Mrs. Don Masse and family, Windsor, visited the latter's parents Mr. & Mrs. Joe Regier and family, Dashwood. Mr. & Mrs. Leo Girard and family, Windsor spent Saturday with Mr. & Mrs, Hubert Carey and family, Mr. & Mrs, Philip Waller, Peterborough spent last week with the latter's parents Mr. & Mrs. Norman Ryan and George and Mrs. Don Ferguson and boys in the village, Mr. & Mrs. Nick Jeromkin and girls have returned home after two weeks vacation at their cottage on McKenzie Lake. Rev. Father Basil Sullivan, C.S.B., Toronto visited Mrs, Charles Glavin and Mr, & Mrs, Patrick Sullivan Sr. last week and attended the funeral of Billy Glavin last Wednesday. „,W1 opens new season, to attend fall rally 1$1,MFIS. TEMPLEMAN STAFFA Olive Speare, Mrs. Ed Chappel and Mrs. Cameron Vivian were hostesses for the August meeting of the Staffa Wornens Institute held in the Staffa ball recently. The meeting was opened with the Institute Ode and Mary Stewart Collect. There were 14 members and 2 visitors present and the roll call was answered by a signed written memory for the Tweedsmuir History. Members were reminded of the Institute Rally to be held in Stratford October 19. Staffa No, 1 0-11 girls had set up a display and comments were given by Ruth Jeffery, Julie Ann Elliott was presented with a gift for com- pleting successfully 12 projects and getting her provincial honours. An interesting Motto, "The past * can not be changed but the future is in our hands ” was given by Mrs. Carter Kerslake. Mrs. Norman Coulthard, St, Pauls, gave an interesting topic on the Tweedsmuir history. Quiet Time on the Mary Stewart Collect *was given by Mrs, Carter Ker- slake The meeting closed with the National Anthem followed by a dainty lunch, Personals Douglas Norris has been holidaying with his grandmother, *Mrs. Sam Norris and Mr, & Mrs, Bob Norris and family, Philip James is at present visiting in the Western Provin- ces. Christine Hotson and Rosemary Budge, Orillia visited for a few days with Miss Kim Eaton. On Friday all attended the Canadian National Exhibition, Karen Miller, Nancy Scott, Janice Vivian, Jill Harburn, Betty Ann Miller, Barbara Meikle and Bonnie Norris ap- peared on Big Als T.V. show over Kitchener on Sunday , Brian McNeil, Cornwall visited on the weekend with Darlene Templeman and attended the Templeman-Capling wedding in Cromarty Presbyterian Church Saturday, Darlene Templeman began work Tuesday at the Y.W,C,A, in St. Thomas. Mrs, Hazel Sadler, Sault Ste Marie, visited with relatives and friends in the community, Mrs. Bruce Eaton has begun her teaching duties at Hol- mesville Public School for this term. Schmick, Joel and Johnathon, Richmond, Virg., spent a few days with Rev, & Mrs. Earl Steinman. Michael Steinman, who had spent the summer with them, returned home. Mr. & Mrs. B. Struyke and family, Byron, have taken up residence in the former Klumpp house. Sunday visitors with Mr. & Mrs. Delmar Miller and boys were Sgt. & Mrs. Tom Miller, Annual meeting of cancer group A record attendance is ex- pected when the Huron Unit of the Canadian Cancer Society meets in Clinton September 19 for the annual meeting and banquet. The guest speaker will be one of Canada's best known radio and television personalities, Bill Brady. A director of the London Middlesex Unit of the Canadian Cancer Society, Mr. Brady chairs their special events committee. Huron Unit president Mrs. Durst says they are expecting branch office members, volun- teers throughout the County, and other interested citizens to come and hear Bill Brady speak. Huron County has made $28,831 in donations so far for the 1972 campaign. Danny and Carolyn, Trenton; Mr. & Mrs. Jack Schenk, Karen and Johnathon; Mr, & Mrs. Robert Green and Jodi, Huron Park; and Mrs. Rosaleen Schenk. Mrs. Glen Rader returned home from St. Joseph's hospital.. Rev. Earl Steinman, Helen Nadiger, Mrs. Albert Miller, and Mrs. Martha Miller motored to Kitchener Sunday evening to St. Paul's Parish Hall where Dr. J.A.O. FRANCIS La FOND Mrs. Francis LaFond, the former Myrtle Anderson, 76, passed away at St. Joseph's hospital, Sarnia, August 31, 1972, She was the wife of the late Francis LaFond, formerly of Grand Bend.
