Robert Raymond McLean,
infant son of Ray and Marjorie
McLean, London, passed away
suddenly September 3, 1972 at the
age of four months.
He was a grandson of Mr. and
Mrs. Ken McLean, and Mr, and
Mrs. Ralph Turner all of Hensall,
A private funeral service was
held on September 5, 1972 from
the Bonthron Funeral Chapel,
Hensall, with Rev. H, Currie
officiating. Interment was in
Exeter cemetery,
DIRK VAN WIEREN
Dirk Van Wieren, Hensel],
passed away September 2, 1972 in
his 70th year.
He was the husband of the
former Aafke Wielinga, and
father of Herman, RR 1, Hensall;
Klaas, Hensall; Bill, London;
Mrs, Richard (Bertha) Fen-
nema, Branchton; and Irene at
home.
Also surviving are five
brothers and one sister in
Holland, and 16 grandchildren,
Funeral services were held
from the Christian Reformed
Church, Exeter September 4, 1972
with Rev. Jack Roeda officiating.
Bonthron Funeral Home, Hen-
sail, was in charge of
arrangements.
Interment was in Exeter
Cemetery. Pallbearers were
Harry Van Wieren, Bert Bran-
derhorst, Art Kikkert, Harry
Klungel, Jake Hovius and Jerry
Boersma,
FLORENCE L. PETTY
Florence L. Petty, Hensall,
passed away at Queensway
Nursing Home, Hensall, Sep-
tember 2, 1972 in her 89th year,
She was the aunt of Mrs. John
(Florence) Campbell, RR 1, Ailsa
Craig, James Siddall, Kirkton
and David Siddall, Denfield.
Funeral services were held
September 5, 1972 from the
Bonthron Funeral Chapel,
Hensall, with Rev. George
Anderson officiating.

Mrs. Glenn E. Bell is a patient
in St. Joseph's Hospital London,
having undergone surgery last
Wednesday.
Dorothy Farquhar, Toronto,
was a weekend visitor with her
mother, Mrs, Emma Farquhar.
Rev, Wilfred Jarvis conducted
service in Carmel Presbyterian
Church on Sunday. John
Thompson, with the electric steel
guitar and Mrs. Malcolm Dougall
at the organ contributed a duet
entitled "It is no Secret".
Beatrice, Mary, John and Bruce
Thompson sang "The Lord Is My
Shepherd" accompanied by the
guitar and organ.
Rally Day service will be ob-
served at this Sunday's service.
Services will be resumed in the
Hensall United Church at 11
a.m.; Chiselhurst service at 9:30
a.m.; Sunday School at the
regular time.
The N .M.S. of Carmel
Presbyterian Church will resume
their fall meetings on Monday,
Roll call will be the name of a
church attended while on
vacation. The ladies aid meeting
will follow.
Michael Neilands, son of Mr. &
Mrs. Paul Neilands will appear
onCFPL television,Channe110, on
Sunday at 9:30 a.m. on the Junior
Talent Hour.
Hensall women's Institute will
resume the fall season by holding
the first meeting September 13.
This will be a public relations
meeting and the roll call is to be a
current event from the day's
newspaper.
Interment was in Exeter
Cemetery.

MRS. FRED CORBETT
Mrs. Fred Corbett, the former
Bertha Edna Mae Finchame,
Hay Township, passed away in
the Blue Water RestHome,Zurich
on Monday, Sept. 4, 1972 in her
83rd year,
Her husband, the late Fred
Corbett predeceased her in 1945.
Born in London, Ontario the
deceased lived in this area most
of her life, She was a member of
the Amber Rebekah Lodge and
the Lodge held a service at the
funeral chapel Wednesday
evening.
Surviving are two sons; Jack
and Ed , Hay Township; ' four
daughters; Mrs. James
Sangster; Hay Twp., Mrs. Ed.
Schroeder Mrs. Harold Parker
and Mrs. Bertha MacGregor,
Hensall; 16 grandchildren and 24
great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be con-
ducted from the Bonthron
Funeral Chapel, Hensall, Sep-
tember, 7 with Rev. Donald Beck,
Hensall United Church of-
ficiationg.
Interment will be in Exeter
'Cemetery. .
The pallbearers will be grand-
sons: Ross and Al Corbett,
George and Ken Parker, Don
MacLaren and Ron Schroeder.

A family trio, Koby, Bert and
Tom Amning, sang several
numbers at the Clinton Christian
Reformed Song service Sunday
evening. Arie Van Derende led
the service with Chris Geutter as
pianist.
, Debbie and Cheryl Flynn en-
tertained the residents with a
step dance at Monday afternoon's
get together. Marie Flynn ac-
companied the Huronview or-
chestra for the old-tyme music
session and led the sing song
along with volunteers, Gladys,
Dale and Donna Flynn.
The McQuaid family of
Seaforth provided the variety
program for Thursday Family
Night. Mr. & Mrs, Wilfred
McQuaid, Mary Catherine,
Norman, Bernard, Alaynis, Paul,
Anne Marie and Madonna who
appeared on the Big Al show last
Sunday play old time favorites
and western music on a variety of
instruments. —
In answer to questions from a
delegation from Boise Cascade,
Hensall council Tuesday night
assured John Sangster and David
Schurman that plans are
proceeding as fast as possible for
construction of the storm sewer
on Oxford Street.
Mr. Schurman told council that
he has had to halve the number of
washrooms in the plant because
there is not proper drainage, and

White tapers in white can-
delabra, and arrangements of
gladioli and shasta mums
decorated Hensall United Church
for the candlelight wedding of
Margaret Ann Mickle and Brian
Edward Collins, August 19, 1972.
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Ernest Laird Mickle,
Hensall, and the groom's parents
are Mr. and Mrs. Edward A.
Collins, London.
Rev. Donald Beck and Father
B.C. Hayes, Kitchener, officiated
for the double-ring ceremony.
Mrs, Robert Pryde was organist
and Mrs. Mark Bialkowski,
London, was the soloist.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride designed and
made her own floor-length gown
of polyester organza over
ployester shantung, with long
sleeves. The empire bodice,
sleeves and skirt were appliqued
with French lace. The chapel-
length train was scalloped with
the same lace and was attached
at the back of the waist-line with
a large chiffon bow,
Her three-tiered chapel-length
veil fell from a tiny, close-fitting
cap trimmed with lace. She
carried a cascade of pink
sweetheart roses, with baby's
breath and a touch of greenery,
Vicki Ruckle, was the maid of
honour with bridesmaids Laurie
Collins, and Pamela and Judith
Mickle.
They were gowned alike in
deep pink polyester satin with
shirred bodices and short puffed
shirred sleeves. The U-Shaped
necklines were trimmed with a
small pleated frill of the same
material, They wore white
mohair picture hats trimmed
with pink velvet ribbon and
carried baskets of pink
sweetheart roses, shasta mums
and blue cornflowers.
The flower girl, Amy Beth
Collins, was dressed similarly, in
white satin with a long pink sash,
and carried a basket of flowers.
Tommy MacMillan was the
ring bearer and carried a white
satin and lace pillow. He was
dressed in long dark trousers and
white jacket.
Donald Collins was the best
man, with ushers Robert Mickle,
Mark Bialkowski and Jim
Coughlin.
A reception and dance followed
at the Dufferin Hall, London. For
a two-week wedding trip to
Northern Ontario, the bride wore
a long, navy and white patterned
pure silk dress with yellow and
for a picture window and to John
Sangster to remodel a shed.
Council approved payment of
bills and accounts amounting to
$3,626.81, for the month of
August.

of storm sewer

the hold-up in plans.
Reeve John Baker told Mr,
Schurman that council cannot
move until they have received
further suggestions from the
county engineer. He said,
however, that these are expected
any day, and that council will
invite tenders, rather than open
them, to speed up the process, He
said that, barring complications,
the work should be completed by
the end of October.
Council also considered an
application for a building permit
from Boise Cascade, for an ad-
dition. 100 feet by 180 feet on the
west and south-east side of plant
No. 1. "I don't see anything
wrong with the building as long
as they don't park like they do in
front of the office," said Reeve
Baker.
