Fire struck twice within ten
days on the farm of Mr. & Mrs.
James Eagleson, Jr. Having just
completed building an 800-bale
straw stack three hours earlier,
lightning struck during the- brief
electrical storm early Saturday
evening and levelled it to ashes.
The family's barn was destroyed
the previous week.
A newly developed gas turbine
engine weighs about 30 per-
cent less than a conventional
car engine, has only one spark
plug, and needs virtually no
maintenance.

heads livestock
Dr. Ford A. Stinson, Principal,
Kemptville College of
Agricultural Technology,
recently announced the ap-
pointment of Mr. Graham Hooper
as head of the livestock
production division at Kemptville
College.
Mr. Hooper was formerly head
of the livestock production
division at Centralia College of
Agricultural Technology. He is a
graduate of Durham University
in England, and taught in
agricultural colleges in England
for ten years before joining the
staff of the Ministry of
Agriculture and Food in 1967.
