Her attendants, Cathy Jansen, maid of honour and Mrs. Pat Goertz, London and Mrs. William Bannister, Thorndale, as bridesmaids, were gowned alike in floor-length dresses of pink chiffon. They carried sprays of red roses and pink carnations. The best man was George Bennett, Calgary, Alberta and ushers were Gary Needham and John Jansen. Lawless united in marriage Carrollone Craig, only daughter of Mr, and Mrs. Lawrence Craig, Moose Jaw, and Patrick Leo Morkin, younger soh of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Morkin, Lucan. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a long gown of lace over net, with lace bodice, long sleeves, deep insertions of lace around the hem and a long train. Her tiered headdress held a Cathedral train. She carried pink roses, white carnations and baby's breath. The bridal attendants were Mrs. Gale Koffka, Vancouver, Mrs. Ruth Murphy, Guelph and Judy Brander, Moose Jaw. They were gowned alike in mauve and rose georgette with mauve hats. They each carried a bouquet of mauve and pink daisies. The flower girl was Pat Craig and the ring-bearer was the bride's brother, Kevin. The groom was attended by his brether, Joseph, Lucan, The ushers were Michael O'Shea, Granton and Brian Barnett, Moose Jaw, The young couple left for a trip into the Okanagan Valley, B.C. Mrs. Jill Waters provided the music, Given in marriage by her brother, Andrew Miller, the bride wore a long gown of lagoda and alecon lace. It had a soft-flowing empire silhouette and cathedral train and the fitted bodice of alecon lace rose to a high neckline, with full Victorian sleeves. The gown was com- plemented with a full length cathedral silk illusion veil, set on a headpiece of lace. The bridal bouquet was a cascade of red roses, Mary Davidson was the maid of honor, and Sandy Weymouth and Bev. Sheppard were the bridesmaids. They were dressed alike in long pale yellow crepe dresses, with an empire line and trimmed with white daisies. They wore wide-brimmed yellow hats, and carried cascades of yellow and white mums and daisies. The best man was Jim Davidson, and the ushers were Robb Weymouth and Frank Miller. Following a reception in the church parlour, the couple left for a wedding trip to Niagara Falls. The bride's travelling outfit was an empire-waisted red dress, with red and white striped sleeves. She wore a corsage of white roses. The bride is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Anton Miller, Exeter, and the groom is the son of Mrs. Jean Sheppard and the late Murray Sheppard, Parkhill, The couple will reside on Main Street, Parkhill. Rates SELECT COMMITTEE ON LAND DRAINAGE By resolution of the Legislature of Ontario a select committee was appointed on June 30, 1972 to examine, study and Inquire into the following matters regarding land drainage in Ontario: (1) The objectives of land drainage as an agricultural practice and the benefits to be derived from such practice. (2) The associated problems of competing land use In the urban fringe and in wetlands, as influenced by land drainage projects, (3) The problem of public interest in land use over the drainage of private lands by individuals. (4) The prior evaluation of the benefits and costs of a drainage project. (5) An evaluation pf the petition procedure for initiating a drainage project. (6) A review of the construction improvement and maintenance procedures under "The Drainage Act" in achieving the objectives. (7) A review of the appeal procedures under "The Drainage Act". (8) A review of the financial procedures and assistance under "The Drainage Act" and other drainage programs. (9) A study of the costs of land drainage and what Influences such costs and how they may be reduced, i.e, engineering costs, etc. (10) An evaluation of construction practices in general and erosion and weed control of drainage ditches in detail. (11) A review of the administrative practices and methods in carrying out responsibility under "The Drainage Act". After due study and consideration to recommend such changes in the laws, procedures and processes as in the opinion of the Committee may be necessary and desirable. The Committee has the intention of visiting all areas in the Province and to hold public hearings on the questions associated with the above terms of reference. This therefore, is to invite all interested parties,. individual or otherwise, to indicate to the Committee, by (AUGUST 15, 1972) their intention to submit written briefs or their desire to attend the hearings and make oral representations. The response to this invitation will determine the times and places of hearings. A written notice setting out the time and place of the public hearings will be given as soon as possible to all persons who have filed notice of intention to make written or oral sub- missions. Chairman, Select Committee on Land Drainage Box 201 Parliament Buildings Toronto, Ontario Last Sunday, Mr. and Mrs, Frank Wildfong were honored at their home on Albert St., when their family gathered to celebrate the couple's 40th wedding anniversary. It was also the occasion of a reunion, as it has been five years since the family has all been together, The bridal couple were presented with a pair of table lamps and a picture album of the occasion. Thirty-three family members enjoyed a buffet dinner. A toast to the couple was proposed by the eldest son, Robert. Frank and Dorothy (nee Grassicki were married in t932, at the Main St. United Church Manse, Exeter. Their attendants were Marguerite McDonald and Charles Pearce. They farmed in Hay Township for many years before coming to Exeter in 1956. Wisdom is knowing what to do next.
