Pee wees get
exciting win
The Exeter pee wees won a
thrilling 4-3 decision Friday night
over Goderich in the first game of
the Western Ontario Athletic
Association "B" playoffs.
The second game will be played
tonight, Thursday in Goderich.
Originally set as a seven inning
contest, the game went into extra
innings when the score was tied 3-
3 and the Exeter club was able to
push one run across the plate in
the bottom of the tenth inning.
Paul Pooley singled to open the
tenth, stole second base, moved
to third as Dan Bell was safe on
an error and completed his cycle
of the bases on Randy Fisher's
single.
Dan Bell went the distance on
the Exeter mound and turned in a
fine performance giving up only
four well scattered hits while
striking out seven.
