Blanks Dashwood bantams
No-hitter for Larry Clarke
Right hander Larry Clarke
pitched a no-hitter Wednesday
night as the Crediton bantams
downed Dashwood by an 8 - 1
score.
In a tremendous pitching effort
of holding the Dashwood boys
hitless, Clarke chalked up a total
of 17 strike-outs.
A walk and a couple of errors in
the sixth inning, allowed Mark
Chandler to score the only
Dashwood run After walking
the first batter in the game,
Clarke struck out the next eight
batters to get a good start on his
no-hitter.
The Crediton Youngsters
scored in every inning but the last
as they downed Dashwood 8 -1. In
the first inning Ron Smith's
single sent Howard Schenk home
and in the second Perry Presz-
cator walked and came around to
count on Mike Desjardine's two
out single, Desjardine in turn was
thorwn out by Dashwood catcher
Marty Becker as he was at-
tempting to steal second base.
In the Creditors third, Howard
Schenk singled, Mathew Muller
was hit by a pitch and both came
on to score. Paul Shapton counted
in the fourth without the aid of a
base hit.
The big Crediton rally came in
the fifth when a walk, a couple of
errors along with Ron Smith's
single produced three runs.
