John C. King B.A. preached his farewell service Sunday morning, ending a six year term on the Woodham Pastoral charge, A few years after the Kings' arrival in Woodham, several churches on the Woodham, Kirkton charges closed and Kirkton joined with Woodham and a joint service of the two congregations was held in the Woodham United Church. The church was filled to capacity. Following the service an address was read and Rev. King and Mrs. King and June were presented with gifts and money, Lunch was served in the shed by the ladies of the two congregations and a social time spent. The best wishes of the communities were extended to the King family. Rev. King is retiring from the active ministry and they will be making their home in Kingston. June King was honoured earlier in the month with a miscellaneous bridal shower by the joint charges, prior to her marriage later this summer. ROSS SKINNER ELIMVILLE The Eliniville Sunday School anniversary service was held Sunday with Rev. Donald A, Deas, B.A., B.D. of Mitchell United Church as guest preacher. He gave an inspiring message on "Growing Into Life", using a paper flower to illustrate his sermon. The Jr. Choir sang two an- thems with Joan Allen at the piano and Mrs. Freeman Horne as organist. Barry Robinson, B.A. B,D. who will be George Lucy who died in a plane crash in England. Mrs. Lucy, the former Marion Moss, is a niece of Mrs. Robert Corsaut. A number from the community attended the Switzer Reunion and the Hazlewood Reunion in Queens Park, Stratford on Sunday. Deanna Copeland and Sandy Williams attended a birthday party on Saturday for Rozanne St. Dennis, Granton. Rozanne was six years old. A successful chicken barbecue in charge of the church service at the usual hour. On the weekend they visited Carl and Pearl Butler, Nashville, Tennessee, and attended the Grand Ole Opry. Mr. & Mrs. Vernon Beaver, Pittsburgh, visited relatives -and friends in the area last week. Mr. & Mrs. Ed French, Mattie and Clara Oestreicher of Windsor were guests Sunday of Mr. & Mrs. Will Oestricher. Mr. & Mrs. Austin Hey, Detroit, are visiting at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Lloyd Hey. Sunday was Decoaration Day at the Crediton Cemetery. A Memorial Service was conducted in Zion United Church. Special music was provided by a singing group composed of Eric and Gordon Finkbeiner, Wilmar Wein, Clair Schwartz, Mrs. Lloyd Bender, Mrs. Charlie Browning, Mrs. Walter Fydenchuk and Mrs. Peter Martin. Dianne Beaver cut her foot on broken glass lying on the sidewalk. The wound required stitches. Zion Sunday School picnic Monday evening the Zion Sunday School picnic was held in the Community Field. The sports were conducted by Howard Hendrick, Ross Pickering, Lorne Preszcator, Harry Schroeder and Rev. Douglas Warren. Wilmar Wein, Cliff Russell, Ken Camp- bell and Walter Fydenchuk manned the barbecues to prepare the wieners. Mrs. Cliff Kenney, Mrs. Walter Fydenchuk and Mrs. Ross Pickering supervised the serving table.
