CROMARTY
The 107th anniversary of
Cromarty Presbyterian church
was held on June 25 with a large
crowd inattendanceboth morning
and evening. The service in the
morning was conducted by Rev.
W. D. Jarvis. David Scott, son of
Mr. & Mrs. T. L. Scott who
recently returned from a two
years teaching term at Sarawak
in Malaysia was the special
speaker. Special music was
provided by the choir and a local
male quartette led by Mrs, John
Scott.
At the evening service, films
and commentary of his work and
experiences overseas were
presented by David to an ap-
preciative audience. Refresh-
ments were enjoyed at the close.
Bridal Shower
A miscellaneous shower for
Mrs, Bruce Nairn, newly-wed
was held at the home of Mrs.
Larry Gardiner one Saturday
evening.

before the program commenced.
Mr. William Routly was chair-
man for the evening, Mrs. Lee
Webber gave humorous readings.
Mrs. Eric Clayburn favoured
with two vocal solos ac-
companied by Mrs. Phil Johns.
Mrs. Gilbert Johns gave two
readings. Lawrence Kellett
rendered two piano solos. Ar-
nold Cann read the address and
Elson Lynn presented Mr. & Mrs.
Miner with a kitchen table and
chairs and a purse of money.
Barry Miller and Robert Bray
presented Charles and John with
a wallet with money enclosed.
The Miners replied, and lunch
was served.

Kenneth Hodgins was master
of ceremonies for the musical
presented by the pupils of Mrs.
Kenneth Hodgins in the United
Church Friday evening.
On the program were a number
of piano solos, organ solos, piano
duets, a chime selection, an
organ and chime selection and an
organ and piano duet.
Lloyd Morgan expressed ap-
preciation to the pupils and their
teacher for the display of musical
talent and closed the program
with prayer.
The evening's proceeds
amounting to $28 were donated to
the South Huron and District
Association for Retarded
Children.
