year at South Huron District High
School released Tuesday mor-
ning showed four students
repeating their achievments of
last year of heading their
respective classes.
Susan Tuckey topped this
year's grade 13 class in the same
fashion she headed last year's
grade 12 group, Susan was one of
three local students to achieve an
average of over 80 percent and
• become Ontario scholars. The
others are Steve Wuerth and
Maryke De Mooy.
Susan is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Wayne Tuckey, Exeter.
Steve is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Ray Wuerth, also of Exeter and
Maryke is the daughter of Mr.
• and Mrs. Abram De Mooy,
Zurich.
Susan Tuckey also receives the
Exeter Lions club award as the
school's top student.
John Blackwell emerged as the
top grade 12 student, This is the
third time in four years that
John, the son of Mr. and Mrs,
David Blackwell, R.R. 'Jensen
was best in his high school class,
Heading the grade 11 students
was Jeff Raeburn of Hensel]. The
son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Raeburn, Jeff has led his class in
each of his three high school
years.
Another repeat from a year ago
was Kathy Cook, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Doug Cook of Hensel],
winning top honors in grade 10.
The only newcomer to the list of
top students is grade nine's best
• Cathy DeJong of Centralia.
Cathy is the daughter of Mrs.
Klara DeJong.
Next in line to John Blackwell
in grade 12 were • Christine

this weekend for the season of six
Car crashes
Exeter bridge
Only two accidents were in-
vestigated during the week by
officers of the Exeter police
department.
Monday afternoon a vehicle
driven by Miss Stella Southcott,
413 Andrew street, Exeter was
damaged to the extent of $1,250
when it struck the bridge on Main
street north,
The other incident was of the
hit and run variety. Robert
Clarke, Exeter reported to police
Friday that his vehicle was
struck while parked on the lot at
Cann's Mill, Damage was
estimated at $150.

nights at the Playhouse. Each
show will, play Wednesday
through Sunday evenings. In
addition there will be an early
show on Saturday. Ticket prices
will range from $2.50 to $3.00 with
a 50 cent reduction for students.
All seats are reserved.
Season's tickets allow patrons
to see all six shows for the price
of five, and can be purchased for
$15.00 or for the lower priced
seats, $12,50. Heading the season
ticket campaign for the Exeter
area will be Mrs. Mel Gaiser
The first play opens July 26th.

June 23, 1972, in his 84th year,
He was the husband of the late

Stephen Township, and Mrs.
Rufus (Rubie) Turnbull, Hay
township. He is also survived by
seven grandchildren and seven
great-grandchildren.

MRS. MILDRED HALLMAN
Mrs. Mildred Hallman, passed
away in Listowel Memorial
Hospital, June 23, 1972, in her 74th
year.
She is survived by one stepson
and two stepdaughters. She was
the sister of Carl Guenther,
Dashwood, and Olwilda, Detroit.
Also surviving are several nieces
and nephews.
She was predeceased by two
brothers, Louis and Harry, and
two sisters, Gertrude and Edith.
Funeral services were held
from the Listowel Baptist
Church, June 26, 1972, with in-
