Mrs, Dorothy Beaton, Vice Grand assisted, Mrs. Bell was presented to the Lodge by Mrs. Myrtle Orr R,S.V.G. Mrs, Maggie Campbell, District Deputy Secretary gave the report of the District meeting held in Amber Lodge, April 12. Mrs, Hazel Corbett, P.G. reported for the finance com- mittee and Mrs. Dorothy Corbett, treasurer, gave her report. A dessert euchre will be held in the Lodge Hall May 10 and members are invited to Brussels Rebekah Lodge April 25. D.D.P. KEN McKELLAR Mrs. Gerald Carey presided for the April meeting of the Marian Ritchie evening auxiliary, which was held in the church, Tuesday evening. Mrs. Carey opened the meeting with a poem, My Garden, and Mrs. Norman Harburn read the scripture. The Study Book discussion,'led by Mrs. Robert Laing dealt with the problems facing the people of Africa, especially those of the language, education, lack of skilled manpower, future over- population and unemployment. The topic, prepared by Mrs, M. Lam ond, was presented by Mrs. Larry Gardiner. She pointed out the reason for the supply fund, and listed the various projects in the world that were being financed by it. The roll call was answered by naming a good book and its author. Mrs. Gardiner conducted a Bible quiz and the meeting closed with the Lord's prayer. Personals After being confined to the Seaforth Community Hospital for a few weeks, Mrs, Esther Moore returned home Friday. Mrs, Myrtle Orr presented Mrs. Bell D.D.P. with a gift on behalf of the members and Mrs. Beaton Vice Grand presented Mrs. Belva Fuss, soloist of the installation staff with a gift. Following the meeting Noble Grand Mrs. Olga Chipchase arranged the program, Piano selections were played by Linda Bell. Mrs. Kenneth Elder showed colored pictures of her trip to Arizona, and California and Mrs. Belva Fuss sang two solos. A social hour followed in the lower hall when refreshments were served by the social com- mittee, Mrs. Annie Reid and Mrs. Bertha MacGregor.
