learned by 4-H club
The annual meeting of Dash-
wood WI was held April 4, with
the directors, Mrs. V, L. Becker,
Mrs. Ervin Devine and Mrs.
Howard Datars, in charge.
Twenty members paid their
• fees as answer to the roll call.
Reports from all committees
were given and accepted. Mrs.
Valentine Becker gave the
nominating committees' report
of officers for the new year who
are: past president, Mrs. Howard
Maier; president, Mrs. Gordon
Bender; first vice-president,
Mrs. Ray Rader; second vice-
president, Mrs. John Rader;
secretary, Mrs. Rosaline Schenk;
assistant secretary, Mrs. Earl

YACMR. A generous donation
was given.
A social time was enjoyed when
secret pals were revealed with a
gift and new secret pals were
chosen.

II Homemaking Club the Staffa
Decorators Incorporated was
held Saturday afternoon at the
home of the leader Mrs. Bill
Butson with all members
present. Mrs, Butson and Mrs.
Jeffery discussed the judging for
achievement day. Each girl
worked on her sewing project for
the remainder of the meetings.
Mrs. Wellwood Gill, Grand
Bend and Mrs. Marjorie Knight,
:London, visited with Mrs. Irvin
Rader Monday.
Mrs. Hugh Boyle has returned
home from St. Joseph's Hospital
where she underwent surgery.
Mr. & Mrs. Vernon Schatz and
Mr. & Mrs. Harvey Hodgins
attended the "Fabrics
Distributors Seminar" at the
Skyline Hotel, Toronto, Sunday,
April 9, where they viewed the
fabrics and styles for fall.
Mrs. Rosaline Schenk, Mr. &
Mrs. Jack Schenk and family and
Mr. & Mrs. Robert Greeili and
Jodi spent Saturday at Kitchener
with Mr. & Mrs. Gary Barn-
brick.
Mr. & Mrs. Reinhold Miller
spent the weekend in Kitchener
with Mr. & Mrs. Harold Maine
and visited with Mrs. Earl
Stumpf in the hospital, who had
undergone surgery.

Ohio, are visiting with Mrs.
Henry Eagleson.

Love was observing her birthday.

Meeting VII of the Staffa. Bed-
Bouncers was held at the home of
Mrs. Wallace Wednesday
evening.
Gail Harburn presided and led
in the 4-H pledge, The roll call,
"A new sewing technique I have
learned" was answered by ten
members, Cheryl Riley read the
secretary's report.
The remainder of the evening
was spent covering wastepaper
baskets and coloring a colour
wheel.
Meeting VIII was held
Saturday at the same home with
nine girls answering the roll call
"How I improved my bedroom,"
Mrs. Wallace demonstrated
how to make a mitred corner. It
was decided to hold a meeting the
following week to work on record
books and complete projects.

Correspondence was read
announcing the official visit of
the D.D.P. Mrs. Ruby Bell, April
19.
Invitations were received from
Monkton Star Lodge to attend
their meeting April 14 it being the
official visit of the D,D.P. •
Other invitations were for a
Dessert Euchre being held in
Goderich and to attend
Edelweiss Rebekah Lodge
Seaforth, Monday.
Arrangements were made to
host the guests at the district
meeting in the local Lodge Hall
April 12, and to arrange for the
official visit of the District
Deputy President April 19.
The semi annual report was
read by the treasurer, Mrs,
Dorothy Corbett.
The members are selling
tickets on a hand made afghan
and blanket.

Mr. & Mrs, Harold Coleman of
Seaforth visited Friday evening
with Mr. & Mrs, K.
McKellar. Mrs. W. B. Moore
who has resided in Cromarty for
the past 17 years celebrated her
90th birthday, April 3. She was
the former Esther Worsley and
was born in Fenelon Township
Victoria County in Eastern
Ontario.
In 1909 she was married to
William Moore and in 1915 they
went west, residing first in
Alberta and then in Northern
Saskatchewan, In 1943 they
returned to Ontario to reside at
Lindsay,
She has one son, Hugh of
Lindsay, and one daughter Mrs.
T, L. (Muriel) Scott of Cromarty.
Mrs. Moore is a patient in
Seaforth Hospital.
Surprise couple
on anniversary

Mr, & Mrs. Lorne Dietrich
were pleasantly surprised
Saturday , evening when their
family took them to Dashwood
Hotel for dinner in honour of their
35th wedding, anniversary.
Later more relatives gathered
to congratulate them at Shipka
Community Centre. A social
evening was spent playing cards,
receiving gifts, and having
refreshments.
Euchre
There were nine tables in play
at the euchre party held Wed-
nesday evening at Shipka
Community centre,
Winners were: ladies' high,
Mrs. Stuart Wolfe; ladies' low,
Mrs. Cliff Kenny; men's low,
Russ Mellin; most lone hands,
Mrs. Mary Moser.
This was the last euchre party
for this eason.

Mrs. Murray Evans of Delaware.
Mrs. H. Morenz accompanied

afternoon with Mrs, Morenz's
sister, Mrs, Art Finlayson who is
a patient in Seaforth Memorial
hospital.
