Kippen U.C.W. met March 22 at
the home of Mrs. Hugh Hendrielc.
Mrs. Kea McLellan was co-
hostess.
Mrs. Emerson Anderson
opened the meeting with an
Easter poem and Mrs. Anderson
gave the devotional, "The man
who protrayed Christ."
Mrs. Wm. Bell, president,
chaired the remainder of the
meeting. The minutes and-
various committee reports were
read. During the roll call, each
lady contributed a vegetable dish
for use in the kitchen of the
church.

March 22, The meeting opened
with the 4-II pledge and the
minutes were read by Chris
McGregor. New secretary
elected was Linda Vanneste.
The Achievement Day exhibit
was discussed as well as the
fashion show. The next meeting
will be held at the home of Linda
Bell,

Juveniles down managers
Ingram tallying for Hensall.
In an interesting exhibition
game, the Hensall novice club
defeated the South Huron girls by
a 8 - 1 score, Robbie Pryde with
four goals led the novice attack,
Adding single goals were Jim
Baird, Paul Bell, John Coleman
and Jeff McKay. The lone goal
for the girls was chalked up by
Marg Vanstone.

and managers by a score of 9 - 4.
Murray Glanville was tops for the
Juveniles with a hat trick per-
formance. Next in line with two
goals each were Bevan Kin-
sman and Bill Coleman while
Joey Reaburn and Gord Pryde
scored one goal apiece.
Brian Campbell led the coaches
and managers with two goals
while Pat O'Brien and Ken
Parker added singles, The day came to a close when

John Barnard, Exeter, visited
with Mr. & Mrs. W.L. Mellis,

Saturday's Minor Hockey Day
at Hensall was a huge success
with a large attendance and all
boys in the hockey program
seeing action,
New York won the "A" division
trophy donated by the Hensall
Minor Hockey Association with a
4 - 2 win over Toronto. Jim Bell
and John Coleman each scored
twice to account for the New
York scoring while Jeff McKay
notched both counters for
Toronto.
Toronto won the Parker and
Parker trophy for being top team
during the regular season.
Boston won the "A" division
championship and the Smith
Construction trophy as the result
of a 1 - 1 tie with Montreal. Brad
Sangster was the Boston
marksman while Doug Quance
replied for Montreal.
The fathers scored an 8 - 7 win
over the Hensall pee wees. Grant
McClinchey was topscorer with
three goal effort while Rick
Parker checked in with a pair of
scores and Bob Caldwell, Ray
Consitt and Brian Campbell each
scored a single,
Ken Varley with two-goals was
best for the pee wees, Single
scores were added by Gary Moir,
Doug Bell, Dwight Consitt, Allan
Bell and Ray Bilcke.
Lucan edged Hensall 3 - 1 in a
bantam game. Jim Berm scored
twice and Pat Holland once for
Lucan while Mike Veal was the
lone Hensall goal getter.

Presbyterian Church in Pem-
broke Ontario, They will be living
• on 512 Mary Street. Their
Induction will be March 30, Mr.
Ross was a former minister of the
Carmel Presbyterian Church in
Hensall, and Mrs. MacDonald
was a C.G.I.T. leader,
Mrs. Mary Funk of London
▪ visited over the weekend with
Mrs. Leona Parke.
Mr, & Mrs. James Sangster
and Bradley were recent visitors
with Mr. & Mrs. Ralph Holland
and family at Thamesford.

Art Hallam, has been holidaying
with his uncle and aunt, Mr. &

for a few days.

The C.O.C. of Carmel
Presbyterian Church held their
Easter meeting' on Sunday
morning at the Church.
Beatrice Thompson opened the
meeting with an Easter poem.
Seven members answered the
roll call by naming an Easter
symbol. The offering was taken
by Janet Hoggarth.
An interesting story was read
by Beatrice, and the children
made pretty Easter scenes.
Everyone enjoyed eating Easter
eggs. The next meeting will be
April 9.
• Explorers
Hensall Presbyterian
Explorers met Sunday morning,
with 10 members answering the
roll call with a symbol of Easter.
Leaders Mrs. Al Hoggarth and
Linda Bell then took the
Explorers to the Queensway
Nursing Home, where they
visited about 30 residents, and
gave them Easter treats made by
the group.
Next meeting will be April 9, at
the home of Mrs. Gordon Sch-
walm, who is the Children's
Secretary of the Huron
Presbytery.
Legion ladies hold draw
Don McLean of Egmondville
was the lucky winner of an
Easter Hamper of groceries, The
draw was sponsored by the
Hensall Legion Ladies. Auxiliary
and the winning ticket was drawn
by Cindy Bisback,
Mrs. Evelyn Randall was the
convener for the project. The
proceeds will go to the Crippled
Children's Treatment Centre in

Kinette meeting
The Hensall Kinette Club met
at the home of Mrs. Cheri
Bonthron, for their March 22
meeting. Mrs. Martha Stan was
the guest for the evening.
Preparations are being made
for the spring rummage sale on
May 5. Final touches were added
for Interclub, which the Kinettes
are hosting for District I Zone B,
April 12. The raffle was won by
Mrs. Joanne Bell, 14 oz, Chocolate or Cocoanut
