Here is something novel for
your attention — commencing at
7.00 p.m. March 27 at the Lucan
Arena our Legion pee wee hockey
team will play against their
fathers and following this game
the Legion bantam hockey team
will play against their fathers.
Now get this the wives and
mothers will act as referees,
team managers and coaches —
the best part of it all, the arena
board is donating the ice time and
the entire proceeds is being
donated to Bunny Bundle. A
worthwhile project you must
admit — why not make it a
tremendous success with your
attendance.
With all this activity going on
around Branch 540 you are
reminded it is made possible by
the 'Faithful' few who take the
time to have the time to work
toward the success of the projects
undertaken.
Why not adjust your schedule
so that at least general meeting
night will be open — Ladies
Auxiliary meetings are held the
first Tuesday of each month —
the Legion general meetings are
held on the second Wednesday
of each month — make it a point
to attend express your views —
why not phone a member, and
bring him along with you? The
attendance draw for the general
meeting of April 5 will be $10,00 -
you must be paid up for 1972 and
in attendance to win — Comrade
Ditty did and he won.
and that's 30 for this week —
remember when in doubt what to
say, take a chance on getting by
with the truth.

waiting for, the culmination of
their sports activity for this
season — the annual presentation
of awards and banquet —
Saturday April 8 Our friends of
Molson are supplying the
trophies and as you may have
guessed to round out the evening
there will be dancing — see you
there, Comrades.
April 8 would appear to be a
busy day for sports minded 540 —
for in the afternoon Comrade
Sports Officer Gord Elson is
calling upon all dart players to
rally to the cause and report to
him if you are interested to
participating in The Zone A 5 dart
tournament — the more the
merrier and Gord wants to take
as many dart players with him as
are willing to travel. "Have darts
will travel," to Mount Brydges
Legion.
Help!!! After certain members
of Branch 540 — no names — no
pack drill, in a certain weekly
newspaper — the ladies of the
Lucan and area Bowling League
thought this would be as good a
time as any and have requested
the men of Branch 540 to prepare,
cook and serve their 1972 windup
banquet.
Comrades we have accepted
the challenge and are prepared
to look after the banquet on
Wednesday, May 3, Now if you
receive a call from the Head Chef
of this venture please be ready to
co-operate and lend a hand. We
will be wanting waiters, kitchen
help, stewards and possibly a
second cook or two.
The proceeds of the dinner will
go into Branch 540's building
fund, Comrades, we feel that if
the ladies are pleased with our
efforts there is a possibility we
could make this an annual event
— personally I am enthused with
the idea and feel it could be a lot
of fun.
Attention all Matelots — don't
forget the 18th annual Naval Vets
reunion will be held in Brantford
the weekend of May 19, 20 and 21.

Voluntary retirement at 60 was
one of the suggestions explored
Friday night at a dinner spon-
sored by the Middlesex North
Riding Association of the New
Democratic Party. The speaker
was David Lewis, National NDP
Leader, addressing over 200
people at the Party Room in
London.
Making it possible for
Canadians to retire at 60 if they
wished "would be opening up jobs
for young people, and we should
remember that more than 40
percent of the unemployed now
are under the age of 25, We would
also be creating a pool of talent
and experience that could be
directed into social em-
ployment."
Pat Chefurka, president of the
Middlesex North Riding
Association, announced that the
Middlesex Federal nomination
meeting will be held within a

the candidates who intend to run
for the nomination; Ray Funk of

and Svend Tybring, London. Mrs.
